The guitar rhythm here is actually not constant and is not snapped at 1/3 imo, so it would be better to use 1/2 + 1/4 notes to follow the drums rather than the guitar here.
Checked these parts out:
04:20:496 - 04:23:022 - the guitar is clearly 1/3, but slightly offtime cause it's a guitar (you can tell due to the number of notes played though, and in a way they are played). Rather than the absolutely correct tick for every note (which would be something dumb like 1/12 or 1/16), it should be mapped as the melody was supposed to be, so this part is fine (though a 1/4 drumline does exist here from time to time). Take for example the very beginning, if you analyze the guitar it seems completely off-time, but it plays fine as it's creating a rhythm that's easily recognized as 1/2 due to the way it's played.
As for the notes before this, the only part that's a bit tricky are notes at 04:19:654 (37,38) - . The guitar is supposed to play 5 notes between the two beats (including the beats) so it should maybe be 3 notes here instead of 2 with the 1/4 snap, unlike other beats around it (where it's 4 although offtime). But that would be really awkward to play.

Had the discussion with MMzz and Ozzy. The guitar goes kinda loose indeed but snapping it to the most "accurate" timing would make it extremely awkward to play as it would mean snapping to weird 1/6 or 1/12 like lolcubes said, places mixed with other 1/3. Besides, the melody is quite well represented with the 1/3 pattern.
Also I firmly believe the guitar is more prominent this time than the drums so I decided to follow it.

There is no inconsistency, the 1/3 guitar melody starts on 04:19:233 - so it is pointless to follow guitar on 04:18:286 (24,25,26,27,28,29,30,31,32) - , as the guitar melody is not so clear, so I decided to follow drums on that part.qoot8123 wrote:

The point at 04:20:338 (43,44,45) - is somewhat valid as 43 is representing a drum, but it is perfectly reasonable as starting on the 1/6th tick would play extremely awkward.
The connection between the two parts is well made, there is no lack of connection. In fact it is quite intuitive for the players.
edit: 1/3 matches the guitar, in every place.
