An advice : don't go too fast on the game, take the time to play, and if you can only do 1.50 stars even 4 months after, it's not a problem if you enjoy the game. :p

The best advice you can get is basically practice. And I would agree with that 
osu! is not a game that you can master just after a few minutes of playing, so you need patience and dedication as well :>
But remember, the most important thing here is to have fun!
