I wonder if osu! would ever include such thing. The Multiplayer Storyboards would replace the normal backgrounds if multiplayer is used, and pretty much tell a story about competition. If any storyboard experts can make those Multiplayer Storyboards, then it would be fun and great. However, due to the fact that multiplayer storyboards center in two people or two teams, they will be only used in team games.
Each beatmap would have a setting to use a certain Multiplayer Storyboard; when that happens, that storyboard chosen will be the only storyboard used for the current beatmap in multiplayer. Normally, if a beatmap doesn't have a definite multiplayer storyboard chosen, the multiplayer storyboard gets chosen by random.
I have made up a list of storyboard examples. You can try to make new Multiplayer Storyboards using new plots, stories and settings for newer builds of the osu! software.
