I installed the updated osu and it kept telling me that "osu!" can't be opened because the identity of the developer cannot be confirmed. How can i fix this?
Hold control then click on the osu! app and click open in the menu that appears.amibunni wrote:

Updated wrapper. https://mega.nz/#!xo0TwRiK!xHxxtO26bEwC ... MZkARHO3_s
Summary:
- WS9Wine1.7.47 @ Wineskin2.6.0
- .NET Framework 4.5.2
- gdiplus is installed
- LANG set to zh_CN. This should fix Chinese fonts, but mess up English (text in some places, for example popups in editor, will be monospaced). If you want to revert it to how it was before open osu.app/Wineskin.app > Advanced and clear the line "Custom Commands"
- Symlink osu.app/osu to osu.app/Contents/Resources/drive_c/Program Files/osu
- Associated extensions should work.
- Wrapper size ~1.68GB
Zzz, been using Fn my whole Osu life. Thank you Agrrox =)Agrrox wrote:

I tried, but without any particular success. I tried playing with/modifying OpenTK libraries (that throws exception at launch), but the whole process of replacing libraries in osu is a bit time consuming and frustrating, given that osu checks it's MD5 on launch, and if crashes throws itself into update-cycle mode.Agrrox wrote:

Mine works fine on Yosemite, but there have been reports saying that they can't get osu to run. You'll have to try it for yourself.BizzardGaming wrote:

Try not to click links whenever you're in the game. The cause of the crashes might be because safari isn't set as you're default browser, but I haven't tested that out.Inulie wrote:

I had this issue a year ago. After this happening a few times, it totally fried my computer. I had to take it to a Guinness Bar to get it fixed. I highly suggest not clicking links while in game. It can really do some damage, the force restart 'somehow' ruined my logic board, and it could yours too. So be careful!Inulie wrote:

Seems like nothing will fix this currently. Wine is just a layer emulator with low performance. Changing render mode to OpenGL might help as there are relatively less things to 'emulate' compare with DirectX. However seems like no way to change the rendering options... Somewhat weird.floorrip wrote:
So I haven't read through the entire thread, but I did search on google "site:https://osu.ppy.sh/forum/t/56460 delay". I don't know if any of these fixes are outdated.
I just bought a brand new iMac, 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5 running Yosemite. I have a huge delay issue which makes osu unplayable. The universal offset fixes the music, but then the hit sounds are off. I don't know anything about wine so if someone could please inform me on the best solution out there right now, that would be great.
Go System Preference>Security & Private, then click on the 'General' tab. You will see an option name 'Allow apps downloaded from:'. There should be a button called 'Run once' allow you to run osu!. Or you can click on the 'Anywhere' box so OSX allow you to run any applications.percy24 wrote:

1) Make sure Advanced -> Options -> "Force use of system XQuartz" is checked.
2) Open osu. It might look like it's just freezed icon in dock, but actually it is displaying invisible "Unable to set pixel format" error, dismiss it with Enter or Space. Osu should start.
3) Upon choosing a game mode and loading song list, you will get an error from .net framework with no text at all. Just close this window (you may need to do this a few times, your mouse cursor can still be invisible/grabbed by game).
4) After that you have probability of around 20% that song list will loads correctly and you will be able to play osu, otherwise osu will freeze. If it freezes, go to 2).
5) Try to avoid pressing any keyboard button on song list (searching) or exiting from results screen back to song list, as it triggers 3) so you increasing your chances to go to 2) exponentially.
How much more ridiculous can it get?

The problem is grounded within WineskinX11 used by Wineskin which is used for emulating osu! on OS X. You can read about the problem on Wineskin site, that it isn't currently supported on El Capitan. You can always try compiling Wine on your own with homebrew, but that can take a while and some reading.
Tested new wrapper version (2.6.1), it works fine. The only thing I noticed is that while playing osu on El Capitan gpu temperature is 10-15 degrees higher (~75C vs ~60C) than on Yosemite, regardless of wine version or engine. (MacBookPro10,1 gpu idle at 40C)GlashaRosa wrote:

Same thing on mine. When I updated to Yosemite, Osu just capped to 60fps all of a sudden. I'm not really sure if Apple is even aware of this issue. I just hope it can be fixed by a client update or something. Maybe a wrapper update? Well, I tried to update mine but it just gives an error and tells me to just do a manual update. I really don't want to mess with anything cuz things might get chaotic.Fucboi wrote:
Hello, since the Yosemite update Osu has been capped to 60FPS and the cursor is like laggy. However, sometimes, at the start of Osu, it does start at 120FPS which is the value I chosed, but after like 20 seconds, it goes back to 60FPS with the "laggy" cursor. I'm pretty sure the problem is from Yosemite because it's since this update that I got the problem, for info I'm playing on a Macbook pro 15" Retina from late 2013 with Intel Iris Pro Graphics
Have any of you experienced the same problem?
Thanks
Sometimes if I'm lucky it does go back to 120fps. But most of the time it's capped.

Thanks for the new mac version.
It is great and I have been waiting for it for years.
My problem is that, it seems not support any Chinese, Japanese or Korean characters.
As a Chinese user, reading kanji is much more easier than speeling romaji hiragana.
So is there any options for me or I have to wait for the next version?

the problem maybe that the X11 service had been canceled since the Yosemite ( os x 10.8), so you need to download XQuartzhttp://www.xquartz.org instead if your system is higher.i0nNepgear wrote:

There is a way with the new alpha release, however it's unplayable for me. The input lag is unbearable, fullscreen isn't working properly, you get a tremendous lag spike on the first few seconds of every beatmap and framerate is locked to vsync, which is a horror for osu! Unless it gets fixed soon I'm taking a break and waiting patiently for the native version.- Kurk - wrote:

I wrote about it in my GH readme. Means that osu updater installed Stable distribution. It is built for dotnet4.0+ (4.5?) but wrapper has only 4.0 installed, and missing important patches. Open osu.config and change release stream for Stable40. Then get compatible osu executable (try this one from stable40, you can use it whenever you need to invoke updater with broken setup http://www.mediafire.com/download/1anmo ... osu%21.exe) and run it, it should download correct distribution. If then it runs but you can only hear sound with black screen, remove some files like osu!ui.dll, osu!gameplay.dll and hope that on the next launch updater will rebuild osu correctly.Agrrox wrote:
