Qualified Maps: First place / User Rating / Newest Ranked

So, getting first place on a qualified map shows up in your profile.



I'd like to request the removal of these since they're pretty much pointless. These scores get reset upon ranking so it's honestly useless to have them show up in your profile's first place section.

I'd like to request that qualified maps do not show up at the top of the forums here.

"Highest User Rating" will almost always apply to the newest qualified map since lots of them get 10'd right away, and sometimes will last a full week (it could even be longer now with the changes to the qualification system.) To be honest, I don't even see why ratings are enabled for qualified maps (unless they get reset as well) but that's another topic.

"Newest Ranked" obviously should be reserved for just ranked maps. I don't see any reason why qualified maps should show up here.


This is all kind of one topic (qualified maps and their appearances on the forums) so I wanted to bundle it together. slap me if I need to separate them into different threads. If I missed a place where qualified maps shouldn't really show up on the website, let me know and I'll add it in here.

that's why most new players playing qualified maps and complaint if #1 is removed or pp, lel

my opinion is a little bit different though, if the map is ranked after 7 days, the score shouldn't be deleted. that'll make the player that isn't a modder/BN, in other words, people who only play for fun quickly and give their honest statement about the map, will think twice about hunting the top 50 for the map.

the reset score is especially a problem in mania, since it have a big limit in scoring, so after you get a full scorre, then deleted, before you can play it again when ranked, someone might already fullscoring that beatmap. it means your absolute first place has been taken by the other guy.

Well, it's just my opinion though, from the guy who only want to find some fun in playing games ^^

A huge discussion was about it, and this was the conclusion
Not everyone agrees with it, heck, I also don't agree with it, but just deal with it
Eventually you'll see this is the better option
Also, why is fullscoring that important?
If you get 1.000.000 it's fine anyways, who cares if you're 4th or 17th?

If you are worried about that, you should seen what chaos Maniera did for the week is got Dq'd. Anyway, nobody ever gets 1,000,000 for more than 3.4 stars (that I know of) and nobody cares about 1M on a map below that difficulty either way.

I agree with this. Especially Highest User Rating and Newest Ranked are pretty useless at the moment.

This is completely irrelevant in this thread, as this decision has been made and will not just be reverted. The thread is about adjusting the website with the change in mind, not about the change itself.

I don't even think highest userrating is needed as there will always be 10* ratings when maps are first qualified and there will always be maps which are rated the same.
So yeah, I guess this will be changed once the site is changed but fixing these issues wouldn't be bad.

I agree qualified maps shouldn't be in the actual setions there, but they could still be shown by a "Newest qualified map"

Peppy explained why he did this, and there's a white message telling you that the score WILL be reseted at the end of the 7 days.

In case you didn't see his reason, it's because there are less critics about the map because of people not wanting their scores wiped on the map because of an eventual DQ, overall.

They just need to learn to read, as I said few lines higher, there's a huge yellow warning saying that the scores will be deleted at the end of the qualify week.
