I tried using fraps, but the file size is too large because it is uncompressed (which isn't necessarily a bad thing).

I tried using shadowplay, but textures are glitchy sometimes when it is on, but it is neat and has less input lag and/or strain on my PC.

I tried using OBS, but.... I don't really have anything against this program. For the most part it's pretty solid, but I want more options.

I really don't need anything special, I just want butter smooth gameplay recordings that puts the least amount of strain on your computer. Thanks in advance!

P.S. If you are a forum mod and you are reading this, I didn't know whether tp put this in General Discussions or Video Games, so i just decided to put it in this one because I will get yelled at either way x.x .

if you don't have a powerful computer, fraps is probably best for quality (bandicam works horrible for me)

you just need to use virtualdub, Xilisoft video converter or other video converter to optimize them later

If you have a powerful computer, just do some more research and stay on one

tweak the video bitrates, it affects the size and video quality a lot

Ah i see. As for my computer, i don't know if it is powerful when it comes to recording and/or streaming. Shadowplay definitely made my computer hick up or stutter less, but streaming in general is kind of tricky. Sometimes, I get massive screen tears and stutters.

CPU: AMD FX 8350
GPU: EVGA GTX 970 SC
Monitor: VG248QE

I think my CPU is bottlenecking my computer a whole lot when I stream or record. Other than that, I can pretty much game any AAA games with at least over 60 fps on 1080p.

Beware that FRAPS eats memory like all hell. I don't know if the videos are compressed at all.

Use OBS and create a profile that is just for recording (w/o streaming) and adjust settings accordingly. If you check the obs forms I believe they have guides on record - only max quality settings.
