In other news: I have introduced a new DQ system - instead of the usual removal of the entry from the judging sheet, I will be putting them on the bottom with a red "DQ" score, with a note attached, stating the reason for the disqualification.
I will be closing the poll, thanks for all the input!
70% of the community thought its better for the finalists to choose their song, so it shall be!
