What does @2x files mean? are important or i can delete them?

@2x = shows up at resolutions higher than 1024x768 or 1336x768
you must edit them first then downscale if you like to share it to the community.

NOTE: @2x is twice from the SD version for the image size

Then, i could edit only the @2x file to look more "HD" or i have to edit both?
