General
disable the widescreen support, it doesn't have any storyboard or video anyway
disable letterbox during breaks, this map doesn't have break at all diff anyway
Combo Colours: try another colours beside of blue (I always match combo colours with the background, so i guess you can add a colour that exist in the background)

There are a lot of jumps, but they're easy to catch. Adding star rating without adding more hyperdashes would be very difficult and probably include timed jumps, which I'd prefer to avoid at this difficulty.

00:33:701 (1,2,3) - why not make all these equal in distance? you have it as this currently. why not try this for easier movement on cup?

00:37:987 (1,2) - This jump seems sorta of a meh type jump. Song really doesn't sound like one should be here unless you listen to this spot a few times to me. Up to you to keep or nerf.
00:45:779 (1,2,3,4) - I would suggest same distance jumps here because the sound is the same throughout all four sliders.
00:55:714 (3,2) - both of these seem like they play better if you flip them so they are going the other way. I say that due to the sound that is under both sliders (the techno "eeeeehhhhh" sound thingy, idk)
01:05:260 (3) - move this to the right by one tick so it is under combo number 1 for better play.
01:22:013 (1,2,3) - you can make it so you can dash between these three last notes

Can't apply any mods for two days, possibly longer, my computer's broken. I'd prefer to apply them myself but if the wait is too long you can do it yourself if you want. Sorry.

Mod by request / floating around in the ether of #ctb

General Comments:
  1. Song Folder: mp3 bitrate is 128kbps, which is the minimum allowed - here's a 192kbps version.
  2. Song Setup: AR and OD in the Cup are unequal, so please +1 to AR so you have a good spread of 6/7/8/9 across the set. Combo colours have already been mentioned, but I guess maybe keep colours (2) and (3), and then change the other two to cream and a pale red for the uniforms?
  3. Metadata: Could add ED and TV Size to tags
  4. Timing: No issues
  5. Hitsounds: Might be nice to add some ;)
  6. AImod: No issues
Difficulty-Specific Comments:
Cup
00:22:403 to 00:34:870 - The movement in this section is a little repetitive, since the pattern moves from left to right and back again. To vary things up a little, you could Ctrl+H 00:21:234 (4,1) to create a more varied lead in to this section, create a small zig-zag by moving 00:24:740 (2,3) to the right, and lastly Ctrl+H 00:31:753 (1,2) and move 00:32:533 (3) - further to the right.

00:32:922 (4,1,2,3) - This pattern could also be made into a zig-zag if you prefer not to do the last suggestion above - I feel it fits well with the emphasis placed on these notes in the music

00:44:026 (4) - I'd NC here for the prominent vocal note since this combo looks a little long for a Cup. Because slider repeats/tails count as fruit on the plate, they stack up, blocking the player's view

There are a couple of places where you could vary the flow slightly in a similar way if you wanted to, but it's already fine IMO.

00:32:922 (2,3,4,5,6) - Given the emphasis on these notes, I feel you can afford to increase the spacing slightly - you use similar spacing at 01:04:481 (1,2,3,4) and 01:22:013 (1,2,3) which are emphasised less in the music. I'd move these about x-16/24 away from each other, so that dash is required here

00:44:026 (5) - Same NC suggestions as in the Cup, combo length is kinda long here too

01:04:481 (1,2,3,4) - I'd move these to the right, so that (1) is stacked with or close to to 01:06:039 (1) - it creates a better emphasis if the jump into the kiai section is a little higher, and it moved (1) more towards the middle of the screen, making it harder to get spinner trapped (there's a lot of bananas on the far right of the screen in this spinner lol)

00:22:403 to 00:34:870 - The movement in this section is a little repetitive, since the pattern moves from left to right and back again. To vary things up a little, you could Ctrl+H 00:21:234 (4,1) to create a more varied lead in to this section, create a small zig-zag by moving 00:24:740 (2,3) to the right, and lastly Ctrl+H 00:31:753 (1,2) and move 00:32:533 (3) - further to the right. - Fixed (with a few adjustments, had a few difficulties with editor being a douche .w.)

00:32:922 (4,1,2,3) - This pattern could also be made into a zig-zag if you prefer not to do the last suggestion above - I feel it fits well with the emphasis placed on these notes in the music

00:44:026 (4) - I'd NC here for the prominent vocal note since this combo looks a little long for a Cup. Because slider repeats/tails count as fruit on the plate, they stack up, blocking the player's view - Fixed

There are a couple of places where you could vary the flow slightly in a similar way if you wanted to, but it's already fine IMO.

Salad
00:32:922 (2,3,4,5,6) - Given the emphasis on these notes, I feel you can afford to increase the spacing slightly - you use similar spacing at 01:04:481 (1,2,3,4) and 01:22:013 (1,2,3) which are emphasised less in the music. I'd move these about x-16/24 away from each other, so that dash is required here - Fixed

00:44:026 (5) - Same NC suggestions as in the Cup, combo length is kinda long here too - Fixed

01:04:481 (1,2,3,4) - I'd move these to the right, so that (1) is stacked with or close to to 01:06:039 (1) - it creates a better emphasis if the jump into the kiai section is a little higher, and it moved (1) more towards the middle of the screen, making it harder to get spinner trapped (there's a lot of bananas on the far right of the screen in this spinner lol) - Fixed

Great freakin' platter tho! - I know this is kinda a stupid reason to deny it, past me thinking it fits the song, but I think these types of jumps have just sort of become my "style", all of my maps include these kinds of jumps. But as stated earlier, I feel these kinds of jumps do fit, and would of course remove if I thought otherwise.

Welp, Eurobeat Bron- Erm, I mean Odyssey strikes again, this time with a Nichijou remix. And a good one at it! I don't know how to mod CtB, but I'll leave some suggestions here.

Source: You can replace "Nichijou" by "日常" and move the former to the tags.

How do you guys call these difficulties? Whatever... ENHI hah.

This is a mod I made with JBHyperion as he was teaching me almost everything. He didn't mention one thing because he wanted me to learn at my own pace and I do appreciate that.
He'll be probably modding this in the next days. Not sure, though.

Easy



  1. 00:05:065 (2) - As you are placing even longer slider as 00:01:169 (2,3) - trying to cover to "aa~" sound, why are you ignoring this one? As you can notice, in 00:05:649 - there's even a bigger accentuation in the song that shouldn't be ignored + taking the fact that leaving a blanket (even if it's an easy diff) while you have mapped a 1/2 part before, this is not a good idea.

  2. 00:22:987 - what happened with this beat? the fact that you are ignoring this is so annoying because it's actually such an important beat that is covering the same part from the vocal. You can either make 00:22:792 (2) - a 1/2 slider or just add another circle. leaving it as a blanket would leave this quite bad.

  3. 00:24:740 (2) - I don't see the point on mapping this circle when the emphasis is in 00:24:546 - . On the other hand, this shouldn't be ignored as well, so it'd be nicer if you actually replace 00:24:740 (2,3) - for a slider from 00:24:546 - to 00:25:130 - .

  4. 00:44:026 (1) - this over-extended slider sounds soooo bad. the main problem of it is that you're trying to cover several beats and sounds in the same object causing the players to get quite "lost" once they finish this as at 00:45:779 - is a very strong beat that shouldn't be ignored. Look at this: http://puu.sh/isHYp/13290cd6a8.jpg . However, take into account the fact that following the drums is "okay", but it leaves the prominent vocal note on the red tick at 00:44:805 - unmapped. So care with this.

  5. 00:54:740 (3) - da hell are you doing right here? the constant sound is clearly audible from 00:54:935 - to 00:55:130 - even it this can result in a difficult patternn for an easy difficulty, the actual placement sounds quite awkward

  6. 01:15:974 - this unmapped sounds so odd, to be honest. try placing something. You could also try: https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/3267980 . I think it follows the vocals pretty well, and there's still a 1/1 space so it's not too dense.

  1. 00:20:260 (2,3) - this pattern can be a bit tricky for newbie players because they have to go back in a short period of time. My suggestion would be to move (3) to x216 so the players have at least more reaction time to reach to that point.... or well, x216 might be a little too small though.

  2. 00:22:403 (1) - something similar happens with this slider in comparison to the thing explained above, seems quite forced for the amount of reaction time new players have. I'd strongly recommend you to move (2) to x312. Maybe isn't such a big deal, but it'll definitely affect gameplay. For this one, you can probably have a little more spacing than the first, since the vocal note is a bit more prominent. Maybe only 1 pixel then, the problem is the amount of time players have, on a harder diff I'd probably say that he could even move it more to the left. Current spacing is 2.07x, and moving (2) x-8 to the right reduces that to 1.97x (maybe x304).

  3. 00:47:922 (2) - Is quite a prominent vocal note... Comapred to the previous jumps, this one is actually quite small imo (only 1.64x). I would actually consider increasing this spacing slightly. You have to different opinions right here:

I feel the strongest note here is (5), then the pitch starts decreasing again. Then decreasing it in 01:26:104 (8) - as there is when the volume starts getting off. This would give a nice transition.

That's my limit. I don't know how to mod Insanes very well as I'll probably criticize everything for overdone spacing. My apologies for this. However, I do STRONGLY recommend you to use AR8,5 or 8,8 in the highest difficulty as it will fit better with the BPM and the type of song you are mapping.

  1. 00:05:065 (2) - As you are placing even longer slider as 00:01:169 (2,3) - trying to cover to "aa~" sound, why are you ignoring this one? As you can notice, in 00:05:649 - there's even a bigger accentuation in the song that shouldn't be ignored + taking the fact that leaving a blanket (even if it's an easy diff) while you have mapped a 1/2 part before, this is not a good idea. - No idea what you're suggesting but I extended 00:05:065 (2) and moved 00:06:234 (3) closer to the end of it to make it easier, hope this satisfies.

  2. 00:22:987 - what happened with this beat? the fact that you are ignoring this is so annoying because it's actually such an important beat that is covering the same part from the vocal. You can either make 00:22:792 (2) - a 1/2 slider or just add another circle. leaving it as a blanket would leave this quite bad. - I'll leave it as it is until further notice, if I add a 1/2 slider now it'll be off from the rest of the map's pattern and complicate things for newer players I would think.

  3. 00:24:740 (2) - I don't see the point on mapping this circle when the emphasis is in 00:24:546 - . On the other hand, this shouldn't be ignored as well, so it'd be nicer if you actually replace 00:24:740 (2,3) - for a slider from 00:24:546 - to 00:25:130 - . - Fixed

  4. 00:44:026 (1) - this over-extended slider sounds soooo bad. the main problem of it is that you're trying to cover several beats and sounds in the same object causing the players to get quite "lost" once they finish this as at 00:45:779 - is a very strong beat that shouldn't be ignored. However, take into account the fact that following the drums is "okay", but it leaves the prominent vocal note on the red tick at 00:44:805 - unmapped. So care with this. - I agree that it doesn't work, the thing is I mapped this map over a long period of time back when I first started mapping, fixed now.

  5. 00:54:740 (3) - da hell are you doing right here? the constant sound is clearly audible from 00:54:935 - to 00:55:130 - even it this can result in a difficult patternn for an easy difficulty, the actual placement sounds quite awkward - Even though this seems awkward I'm putting the note on the louder part of the map which is that loud whistle thing, adding a note at that beat wouldn't only result in harder difficulty but I would feel inclined to add a note at 00:55:520 too. so I'll leave it as it is till further notice

  6. 01:15:974 - this unmapped sounds so odd, to be honest. try placing something. You could also try: https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/3267980 . I think it follows the vocals pretty well, and there's still a 1/1 space so it's not too dense. - But then right after the spinner is the exact same pattern, although I do agree, so I changed it to two 1/2 sliders.

  1. 00:20:260 (2,3) - this pattern can be a bit tricky for newbie players because they have to go back in a short period of time. My suggestion would be to move (3) to x216 so the players have at least more reaction time to reach to that point.... or well, x216 might be a little too small though.- Moved to x:192 instead, since it's a salad or "normal" as you call it, they're supposed to have dashes on strongish notes, although this was too big of a jump I agree.

  2. 00:22:403 (1) - something similar happens with this slider in comparison to the thing explained above, seems quite forced for the amount of reaction time new players have. I'd strongly recommend you to move (2) to x312. Maybe isn't such a big deal, but it'll definitely affect gameplay. For this one, you can probably have a little more spacing than the first, since the vocal note is a bit more prominent. Maybe only 1 pixel then, the problem is the amount of time players have, on a harder diff I'd probably say that he could even move it more to the left. Current spacing is 2.07x, and moving (2) x-8 to the right reduces that to 1.97x (maybe x304). - Fixed

  3. 00:47:922 (2) - Is quite a prominent vocal note... Comapred to the previous jumps, this one is actually quite small imo (only 1.64x). I would actually consider increasing this spacing slightly. You have to different opinions right here:

That's my limit. I don't know how to mod Insanes very well as I'll probably criticize everything for overdone spacing. My apologies for this. However, I do STRONGLY recommend you to use AR8,5 or 8,8 in the highest difficulty as it will fit better with the BPM and the type of song you are mapping. - Changed to AR8.8, thanks.

  4. 00:34:481 (3,4) - A little more spacing would be nice here - try moving 00:34:091 (2,3) to x-80 since (2) is more prominent, then rotate 00:34:870 (4) 15 degrees anticlockwise and move to x-392

  6. 00:41:104 (1,2) - The 1/2 slider (2) feels a bit pointless in this difficulty, so I'd remove these and replace with a 1/1 slider for the vocals, which leaves this feeling a bit less empty.
