  1. 00:17:022(1) - This isn't lined up with the last circle of the stream.
  2. 00:32:793(3,5) - 5 doesn't line up with 3's slider end.
  3. 01:04:336 - The orange 2 and the green 3 don't line up. I think you probably tried keeping to distance spacing, but please do your best to make it work, to make those two things stack neater.
  4. 01:10:850(2,3,4) - 3 and 4 don't line up with the 2's slider end.
  5. 01:25:936(6,1) - 6 isn't exactly in the center of 1. Also, I found the SV of 1 to be a bit surprising when I played it. I think if you moved 6 out of the center, and more on the slider's start, it'd be easier to adjust to the speed change. Optional, really, but I think it's a change that would be worth making.

    Overall, this map is mechanically fine, in my opinion. I like your mapping style. It's very clean.
[Insane]
  1. 00:39:222 - It's not difficult (for me at least), but something feels weird about the direction of this mini slider. I tried ctrl+g, and it feels better, in my opinion, but I'm not sure how you'd like that. I would also try aiming it downward, more in the direction of 3, OR in the opposite direction of 3.
  2. 00:56:793(1,3) - 1 isn't pointing exactly right, to line up with 3.
  3. 01:08:279(2,3) - I'm not sure if you were trying to blanket 3 with 2, but if you were, it's very off in its current state.

  • I get really anal about blanketing issues in Normal and Easy maps because it's so much easier to tell whether something blankets well or not since there aren't as many objects to look at in the first place.

  2. Check song setup --> design, you don't need to check the "widescreen support" option since you don't have storyboard.
  3. ^ you don't need to check the "letterbox during break" as well.

  1. 00:01:936 (2) - I actually would suggest to end the slider here 00:02:450 since there's a big vocal sound there, but yes it will ruin the polarity... I don't know if adding a note here 00:02:965 would help http://puu.sh/hnWPx/4e69cf2e6b.jpg
  2. 00:04:679 Adding a spinner here would be pretty good tho, or if you want to make it easy, just add a short break

Now looking your normal I noticed that you did the same thing I asked you to do on the Easy, so why not?! :)
00:07:079 circle here? I inserted up the slider in the curved pattern and it looks good plus follow the rhythm.

Hard:


Doesn't CS 4 for Hard seens too much Insane? ^^ I would like 3.8 more

I intend to make this extra diff more fun by increasing SV and creating some interesting patterns. However, it seems that those creations have become the main issues that most people are concerned about :(
I will try to find more mods on the diff and make more improvement on this diff. Hopefully I could manage to make this diff rankable someday owo

From my queue. I took a look at your highest difficulty—it's quite overmapped, which can be a very likely reason to disqualify.

Basically a map was DQ'd for having the wrong Family / Given order.

If you look at the website: http://hashimotomiyuki.com/
The romanization goes Given Family (so swapped)

I'm not really sure what the 'preferred' romanization is anymore as lots of maps are still getting pushed through even reversed. It was just that one song that got DQ'd for it.

If you want to be 'safe' then reverse it, basically.

After internal discussion, we decided to disqualify this mapset over the following issues in the Rinshan-Kaihou difficulty:

Overdone SV-changes / jump patterns. Some of your patterns in this difficulty have insane SV and / or huge jumps. Those are often extreme difficulty spikes compared to the rest of the map and feel exaggerated. Examples:

  1. 00:13:593 (4,5,6,7,1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - These spacings seem random and too big for this relatively calm verse. With those jumps, you are putting a high emphasis on all notes here, which is in no way related to the music. Try to place jumps leading into the most important beats you want to stress, not just put them between every two circles.
  2. 00:40:679 (1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,3) - There is nothing in the music that would justify such huge jumps here. Same explanation as above.
  3. 00:45:650 (1,1,2,3,1,1,2,3,1) - This insanely high SV mixed with big jumps is a difficulty spike and feels very overdone for what the song provides.
  4. 00:50:450 (3,4,5,6,7,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9) - Another overdone jump pattern. There is no strong beat every 1/2 here, that would justify such a pattern.
Generally, the spacing seems like there has not been much thought put into it. Often you have jumps leading into not really intense notes, so the emphasis for more important notes gets completely lost. Jumps leading into cymbals or other loud, strong beats should be bigger than other jumps, to put more emphasis to these notes. Sometimes you also have strange variations of spacings, even though the emphasis between all notes stays the same. Examples:

  1. 00:02:450 (7,8) - Why is there such a huge jump here?
  2. 00:15:649 (1,2,3,4) - The jumps between (1,2,3) are bigger than (3,4), even though 00:16:165 - is the most emphasized note here with the strong cymbal sound.

  4. 00:56:793 (1,2,3,4,5,6) - (1,2,3,4) has big jumps even though there is nothing special in the music, so (5,6) feels not enough for this strong cymbal at 00:57:993 -
  5. 01:02:279 (1,2,3,1,2,3,4,5) - Two of those notes are overmapped, 01:02:450 (2) and 01:02:964 (2) -, so why are they spaced equally to the other circles in this pattern? You should probably not map a circle at those beats anyways.
  6. 01:08:279 (4,5) - Why suddenly small DS compared to previous patterns?
Sometimes the Spacing of 1/2-gaps is so low compared to your usual spacings, that those look more like 1/4-gaps. Examples:

  1. 00:17:022 (1,2,3) -
  2. 00:28:507 (2,3) -
Some of your 3/4-sliders used are not fitting to the music. Examples:

  1. 00:59:879 (2) - There is a much stronger beat at 01:00:050 -. Also, it seems like you followed the vocals with 00:59:536 (1) but now the vocals are also at 01:00:050 so there is no reason to have a 3/4-slider here.
  2. 01:14:107 (5) - Again, there is a much stronger beat at 01:14:279 -
There are also hitsounding issues in this map. You are following snares with claps, but then you don't place claps when the snares break out of the usualy 2-4-pattern. You should place a clap everytime these sounds can be heard in the music, for a more consistent hitsounding. Examples:

  1. 00:59:364 (5,6) -
  2. 01:10:336 (4) -
  3. 01:13:079 - and 01:13:165 -
Please note that those are just examples, similar issues happen more often in your map.

Generally, we felt that the Insane difficulty covered what this song provides and Rinshan-Kaihou seems more or less unneeded, as it's overdone and unpolished in many instances. You have to decide that on your own, though.

This mapset will be handled by the BNG from now on! Good luck!

Actually, I was placing the circles based on their pitches which definitely relate to the music. But anyways, I changed the entire pattern so that the jumps are neither too big nor nearly equally spaced (loudest beats are emphasized)
  2. 00:40:679 (1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,3) - There is nothing in the music that would justify such huge jumps here. Same explanation as above. I admit that the jumps are too big for this part. However, I think the music is definitely getting more intense. The snares drum is coming out more frequently compared to the rest of the song. (It appears at every single 1/1 beat instead of appearing every other beat ). Therefore, I don't see why bigger jumps are not justified in this case. I did change the spacing of those jumps so that the jumps at the louder beats(or some change in music that I truely want to emphasize) are bigger
  3. 00:45:650 (1,1,2,3,1,1,2,3,1) - This insanely high SV mixed with big jumps is a difficulty spike and feels very overdone for what the song provides. Significantly lowered down the spacing and also improved the flow.

I may proabbly work on Rinshan-Kaihou for now, and see how things go. Hope I have fixed most of the major issues. That would be awesome If I eventually ranked this owo!!
