The first one I played was RuneScape when I was little, still have the same account (I guess/hope), haven't played for ages though.
My first MMO was MapleStory back in 2007 or so. My dad introduced me to it and we would play it together a lot until he got sick of not being able to leave level 32. I tried playing it longer, trying to get out of level 18, but I just got bored.
I started playing again shortly after the big bang and I had a lot more fun with it. I had a nice schedule of play it for 1-2 months, then stop playing for 3-6 months, then playing again. I did that steadily until I overreacted about a SAO event and stopped playing. I'll probably be back at it in a month or so.

Archlords (2008), after 2 weeks of play immediately stopped. The game is too boring for me. 
Even World of Warcraft and Destiny I kept not 2 weeks. MMO is just not my thing.

It was either Maplestory, or Secret of the Solstice.

This MMO called Fiesta Online, I quit that game due to the fact that it is a pay-to-win game now. 
Mine was Seal Online, I think

Need For Speed World. Started in early 2012, left the game for 2 years, came back again for 5 months, left the game for years now. I just recently came back because NFSW servers will be shutdown on July 2015

But, if you're solo then:
If you have have money, it can be fun.
If you don't have money and don't mind working hard while everyone with money pays their way through the game then that's also a yes.
