Since there is an 'Enable OS Tablet Support', why not just change the bottom part of the screen into a drum so that it is possible to play taiko mode with just touch screen, or just make it possible to hit the blue notes as well while using touch.

Did you mean Like T-Aiko on Android? Maybe?
Okay, someone will need that i think. Especially Windows Surface users :D

This is nice, but unless there is a large enough demand for it I kinda doubt seeing this in a while.
Most touch-screen laptops don't have multi-touch so it would be annoying enough to play this if it was implemented.

If I need to explain why:
Not having multi-touch would be annoying as you wouldn't be able to tap the drum quickly enough with two fingers, unless you have magic speed in your hands.

I have a windows surface and I would love to play on my touch screen like this.
I tried using autohotkey to simulate it, but it doesn't work inside osu, probably to prevent cheating haha.

I reckon it's unlikely that osu! will be ported to Surface....

Osu! can be ported to Surface. (Surface Pro, to be specific.)

I'd say this is a nice idea because in the next generation, (of PC and Tablet) I think all of the screen will be touchable.
But I don't know about touch input delay. ._.

This would be really impractical without multitouch support, and the game doesn't even have that for Standard mode. I'd want that to be implemented before this can be a thing.

I'm pretty sure most (if not all) Windows 8 touchscreen laptops use a 10-point multitouch screen...

Hi!

Any news on this? I know my Acer Touchscreen laptop has multi-touch and have been very bummed that I haven't been able to play the taiko drum mode with it since I'm a HUGE fan of it.

I mean, the center of the drum (the red area indicated in the "Taiko no Tatsujin" game works), but not the rim (the blue portion).

I hope this becomes a feature soon!

I'm definitely BUMPING this request!

Osu don't need to be ported to Surface Pro, as it's normal x86 PC in form of tablet and should run it out of the box (or else there some touch APIs compaibility problems?)

Bumping this. I'd play taiko with the touchscreen because there's pretty much no input delay compared to the keyboard controls.

While this would be a cool feature to have, I can't imagine the delay between touch screen and keyboard being too different. Keyboard already has a pretty low response time as it is.

Depending on your touchscreen I imagine this being like iPad tnt except it doesn't have shit timing. Would be cool for this and o!m support.

Can be nice, but how in earth can you play maps like https://osu.ppy.sh/s/292876 w/o breaking the screen? (This map is kinda an extreme example, but you probably understand it)

I don't think the existence of insane charts is exactly a good reason for this not to be a thing. I can't imagine this would be an extremely tough thing to implement.

as a very bad work around there is this program called virtual gamepad (http://palmtime.net/virtualgamepad/) it shows on screen buttons that you can rebind, it dosent work well but its somthng
