Ever since I finished Hard, I'm getting much higher spell bonuses in Phantasm than I usually do; most notably I've captured Shikigami "Protection of Zenki and Goki" with a bonus of 7236180, where as before I could only capture it for around 6 million points. I think I've learned how to stream even much smaller than before, yeah thanks for that Youmu. Also, I've finally been able to capture two cards that I haven't been able to before, and they are Sinisiter Spirits "Double Death Butterfly", and, FINALLY, Shikigami "Ran Yakumo"; this peaceful card only LOOKS easy, but it still actually isn't. It's really, really, REALLY difficult compared to Shikigami "Chen", which was shiteasy. So at least this doesn't happen to me anymore:

Unfortunately I still fuck up "Boundary of Humans and Youkai" and "Boundary of Life and Death" pretty bad, but not as bad as before. Now at least I can get to half of BoHaY before getting hit, and I only get hit once now and survive the part where you get caged in the middle. BoLaD, well... still the last 20%. Those blue balls are just too... >_> Lastly, for the life of me, I cannot decipher as to why I still keep freaking up "Danmaku Bounded Field" when it's clearly easier than the IN version of the spell. I just keep on freaking up one wave, all the time; in this most recent run (which I didn't save the replay) I screwed up on the second to the last wave.

But I'm feeling more confident in this, actually. Maybe after I can finish Phantasm with more than 700million points, I'll start tackling Lunatic.

EDIT: So I played Easy for the lulz

...and I'm not amused:

1.) I got 885389040, which is the highest score I've gotten so far, beating both my Normal and Hard runs >_<
2.) I still died 4 times, and failing 2 cards in the process. One of them had to be 10% Reflowering >_<
3.) LYRICA?!

Err... I couldn't recreate it that well, so I just played it again for a screenshot:
Those bullets don't cramp up like that on Normal and especially on Hard <_< What the hell is this?! This is one of the moments where I died btw

Shikigami "Ran Yakumo" is super ridiculously easy. Go to the very bottom of the screen. Ran will aim at you every other wave (or is it three waves? Well, it's really obvious). Just move left or right. You will magically avoid like 90% of the bullets.

Boundary of Life and Death has a safespot of sorts, but it's difficult to explain how to do it, and it depends on Yukari's movement. See this screenshot though? http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/e ... ari140.jpg Based on how I know the card fires, it looks like he can survive without moving in that situation. In fact, that's probably why that screenshot EXISTS. He was safe and bored enough to hit the screenshot key without screwing up his run.

xD don't care about the red bullets you have to dodge the blue bulltes since their fast D: but do not move very much, or you will get captured ...

In other news, I'm currently in the US at the moment leeching living in my uncle's house for around 2 weeks and moving to Canada after that and gonna be there for another 2 weeks before I go back home, so I can probably try and get some TH09 and TH12.3 matches to work with some people this time. Maybe if you people see me somewhere around #touhou and under IRC I'm probably bored at the moment so I'll be waiting for stuff to happen. Or if there's a place I could look for matches that would be fine too.

Kinda sad how the PCs I'll be using for this 1month trip here will all be used as Touhouslaves, but meh

so I played Imperishable night again. but on normal with 3 starting life. weird enough I can 1CC'd it. I failed hard on stage 4 and 5. marisa's slow and fast bullet pattern practically makes me whaaat. in stage 5, reisen's wall of overclosed bullets hate me thus I have to deathbomb the whole fight with reisen.

I chose final A because I have picked B before. I managed to beat eirin but what I can't believe is that I actually passes her spell card Earth In a Pot.

You can set the lives settings to default (3? the one which gives you 2 life stars at the start) which is the maximum number of lives without player penalty. It's the most practical setting

Funny how the only Touhou game i could finish on normal is IN. Though if you count in the fighters thats another story..:V

But yeah Touhou is a fun stg. I only play it for the characters and music..

But playing Hard starting with your last live is much funnier XD Because you can die everytime on Stage 1 Since Stage 1, 2 & 3 are no matches for me on Hard, i just trying with only 1 live to finish the whole game ^^ On Stage 4 i die only during the Stage 1~2 times, on Stage 5 I die like an idiot about 3~4 times o.o But... i can survive at least to Stage 6. But worse D: So atm I'm training to get a perfect in Stage 6 Hard, which i was only able to capture Youmu's Spell and 3 of Yuyuko. So I'm not ready yet x_X

Also, yeah I've been going to places for the past 4-5 days or so, and I had one of the most lolTouhouFan moments ever.

You see I've been in Niagara Falls, Canada the entire day today, and there were lots of seagulls, but more importantly, sparrows. One of the sparrows, weirdly enough, was colored purple. I kinda thought out loud... actually, too loud, and shouted "O HAI MYSTIA" out of the blue, and my mother was like "What?" (lol), and then the fun part: [b]there were like 5 other people (two of them were of Asian/Chinese origin) who reacted and I could see them looking at the same sparrow I was looking and they were like "OMG it looks a lot like Mystia" and some other mumbling about how they saw a purple sparrow. Touhou fans easily spotted, lol.

all it takes with marisa is god like reaction or 1 mistake by your opponent and they die

If you have patience to learn danmaku, then you're welcome to try~! The characters should be enough motivation to actually finish the games the proper way lol. If you really can't get a hold of danmaku after a week of being addicted to it then I suggest you just try the fighting games instead, although you'll be missing out on a lot if you don't get good at the mainstream games.

I wouldn't be surprised if your other half got converted into Touhou, just like I did lol, so right now I'm like 45% Taiko and 45% Touhou, and 10% of everything else haha.

Unfortunately Momiji only appears as a very minor character, appearing as the midboss of TH10, and no appearances anywhere else. So basically Momiji is considered a minor character, but for some reason she's more popular than the other midboss-only characters.

...Lybydose, I could swear the 'move left/right' thing on Shikigami "Ran Yakumo" isn't working 90% of the time unless I go to the middle of the screen. That card freaked me up a total of 3 times in this most recent run of mine (2 deaths and 1 false alarm bomb). I am beginning to despise it.

EDIT2: I thought it was not worth a watch, but it actually turned out pretty funny if you listen to it well. The Thai accent kinda makes the Sinsacks more hilarious

Can someone PLEASE tell me how the hell they clear Fujiyama Volcano (Mokou's card before Possessed by Phoenix)? That's the only card left that's kind of eating a huge chunk of my life support (I think I get hit 3-6 times total), making me rage and then I completely freak out on PbP and Hourai Doll, which are really shiteasy cards. Seriously, those explosions are just a bit too ridiculous...

Also, the death fairy just before Mokou (probably the strongest non-boss fairy?)... I sometimes can make it so that it spits out a 1UP, but most of the time it only spits out a Bomb. What's the criteria for it spitting out either a bomb or a 1UP?
