Hi, this may be a weird question, but I'm looking into getting a laptop for general schoolwork and things like that, and I've decided I want a laptop that I can also play osu on (i know, this game and schoolwork is a terrible combination, no need to tell me). I'm curious if anyone here has any input into what kind of laptop would be best choice for casually playing this game between classes.

Also if anyone knows whether or not the windows tablets are good choices in general instead of getting a laptop.

Any recommendation from size of the screen to type of keyboard would help me out :D. I already have a huion 420 tablet, but the rubber dome keyboard is gunna suck. I'm going to have to try really hard to not break the z and x keys.

I'm not willing to spend a lot on this, maybe $300 tops, but I was wondering if anyone has any experience with playing osu on a laptop, and would like to share some recommendations with me.

well osu! doesn't really need a high-specs laptop to play though. maybe i3 3rd generation and intel hd 4000 is already enough to get 120-240 fps w/o video turned on.
for the brand, idk about your country. but seems Lenovo is quite popular in my country, for their cheap prizes but decent to good quality

I'm using a laptop to play osu!. b4 this laptop I'm using Toshiba Satellite Pro C640 (around $300 back then) and i got decent osu! gameplay (120 fps). Now I'm using Toshiba L840-1045X and can reach 900 fps, but it's quite expensive ( around $700 )

Not much help, but I used to play on a Dell N5050 laptop.
That thing was SHIT tier (Intel i3 processor 2.3 GHz) but was still able to play osu! pretty well. Although I did have to go vsync and you couldn't play with the video on (but who even plays osu! with the background video on really?).

Point is, a turd could run osu! so if you're looking for a schoolwork laptop that could run this game and not have plans on installing any other games, any laptop made after 2011 would probably be good enough.

Not really gonna help at all, but I'm using Macbook Pro Late 2013 with Bootcamp installed.

The keyboard so far works okay since not much force is required to press it.

inb4 it breaks...

My school computer turd can even run it.

Pretty much anything but macbook because you need windows system to run it fluently.
Btw tablet pc is not a really good idea. your hand will block the screen.

I do think you'll need something better than a hd400 for graphics if you want to use videos/storyboards at 200+ fps, not sure if it can hold 120 stable with videos at all.
