It's obviously made for gimmick and not for something serious. It's more of memorization than anything, where as Angel Dream and Rotter wasn't too much and all that.

Needless to say I pretty much keep failing Kumasan at the moment
Actually, this song doesn't require memorization at all, except for the very last part. The notes aren't that hard if you can see what they are (though that isn't easy by itself, with 6x speed and all).

And IMO Mori should be replaced with Ordyne (the song with all big notes).

And WTF is Carnivorous Carnival still doing in II?

Another gimmick beatset, too. That's freaking annoying.

Also, osu!Taiko's drumbar is so short that anything above 2x is just plain hard to see already, whereas I can read Rotter's x4 part when I played it on Frionel's Wii >_>

Mori no Kumasan Ura is also easier to read on the 12.5 arcade than on osu!, by the same token. I memorized everything up to x4.

Well since the Taiko Trials 2 have already been up there for so long I don't think changing it now would make much of a difference. Maybe wait for Trials 3.

@PropellerCap: By popular demand :P We all decided that we should keep one or two old songs from Trials 1.

Not so sure with Mint Tears...especially when we don't even have a proper
video/song source for referencing.But judging from the Wikihouse entry...yeah,
It probably fits in.

So, maybe these could be SOME of the songs that can be considered...? (Last 4 are the god songs)

1. Ordyne (first should ALWAYS be a gimmick song imo)
2. Don't Cut (Ura)
3. Tank! (Ura)
4. Etude Op. 10-4
5. Mint Tears
6. Senpuu no Mai (AC)
7. Rotter Tarmination (Ura)
8. Kitasaitama2000
9. Ryougen no Mai
10. Hataraku2000

Of course this is a suggestion, IMO it's best to wait till Taiko 14/Wii3 is out for III.

Actually, I was thinking; maybe we could expand the Taiko Trials next time or something. There are some worthy songs that don't seem to fit only in a list of 10. I was thinking something like... categories. Something like Akira category (features difficult songs with BPM>210), Tengu category (note-heavy songs), God category (god songs), etc. I have no idea what you'd want to name them, but that's just a suggestion of mine.

It's also so that we could isolate all the gimmick sets to one category instead. Kumasan and Ordyne definitely in the same category

Maybe we could compile a list of song recommendations too. Sometimes the newer maps get left out because just looking at the title you won't know how good they are, i.e. Before After Medley, Penetration, Metal Police...

You just gave me an idea, aquabluu.

There should be "full-combo" challenges, where you must either FC the song or play on Sudden-Death (same either way), and try to get as high as possible score that way.

The types of songs should be:
1. Songs with forced "speed-up". (Urban Fragments, that 7-star song used in the fire robot boss, Kechadon2000)
2. Gimmick songs. (Ordyne, Mori no Kumasan Ura)
3. Songs with very long/hard strings. (Yawaraka Sensha Ura, Senpuu no Mai, Etude Op. 10-4, Hikari no Kanata e)
4. Weird rhythms/notes. (Blue-chan 2, Stage 0.ac11, that 9-star "Kumonai" thing, Many Wow Bang! Regular + Ura)
5. Slow BPM with 24/32 notes. (Mappy Medley, Family Dondon, Tank! Regular + Ura)
6. 999 combo songs. (Bachi Osensei Ura, Kurenai, Punishment)
7. God Songs. (Rotter Ura, Ryougen no Mai, Kita2000, Hataraku2000, 2000 Series in general)

And I hate how the new 2000 song sounds... "Ge nita koi koi koi koi, Ge nita koi koi koi koi..." -.-"

Like I said, it's probably a 1-star oni joke song with a 10-star ura map that's harder than Kita2000. (Though that wouldn't be until the next AC release...)

Simple.
24994,-100,4,2,0,100,0,0
set inheritted section in game then open .osu file to note pad
you can see -100, (or -50 or -200... whatever) then you can change that into -100/HS
for example, if you want HS 1.5, -100/1.5=-66.666666666... so replace -100 into -66.6666666667 or something like that.

EDIT:
almost forgot to mention this, if you set that number over -50~-200 (that is, x0.5~x2.0) and if you open timing panel in that section, osu will crash. but I didn't find any problems when playing them

As for Kidaruma 2000, there's no Oni authentic, but there's a completely insane make of it on nicovideo which has the same annoying 1/8 patterns as Hataraku.

Before I start mapping mint tears though...here's one map.

Ketsui no Asa ni - From Taiko 9 and DS1. I usually hate slow easy songs like this but this one is special to me. It was the first Oni song I FCed. Yes, I FCed this before Anpanman no March and Together.

Taiko Tower 10- PS2 Nanadaime

Wasn't hard to time at all, despite the BPM changes. It's rigidly fixed at +2.5 BPM per stanza from 70 all the way up to 250, so it was easy.

For Zekira: I fixed the link on Hakuchou no Mizuumi, you should get a .osu file now.

2. Go right 5 songs.
3. Select the song when the right digit of the countdown timer is 7.
4. Full combo the song with 3 or less "可".
5. 3rd flag appears. You have unlocked mint tears!

ROFL, since i was fooling around with the taikojiro settings, i figured out the speed of hayasaitama XXDDDDDD x1.25 . So i tested it on Saitama with this speed. what was coming out? The Saitama track hears exactly the same as hayasaitama o.o (also for kitasaitama 200, with 1.25 = KitaSaitama2000 sound which is actually the 200-track).

lol so i just get bored and watched: HayaYawaraka Sensha (Ura), HayaRotter Tarmination, HayaRyougen no Mai... XDD but the stupid thing ever: HayaKitaSaitama2000 (or should i call it KitaSaitama20000? o.o) and HayaHayaSaitama2000 ... omfg

But something is weird: I just tested a speed of x0.75 on hayasaitama2000. it's to slow? the correct time (which haya sounds exactly like saitama) is x0.80...

@Propeller Cap: I found the Saitama discrepancy. What you said was all correct.... 1 times 1.25 is 1.25. Now think backwards. If Haya Saitama is 1, then divide by 1.25 again. 1 divided by 1.25 is....0.8

I never used that. The only time which I used HS was in OODain (lepido helped me with that) and Yumeiro Coaster. I guess the only way we can use HS is increase or decrease BPM, uninherited timing sections.

No matter what I'll do I'm still using HS.

It just is in the matter of not blurting it out to anyone.

It's a lot safer if you restrict HS to Taiko-only diffs. I have no intention of changing anything.

@aqua: I probably can. I'll just use an audio->audio jack and plug it to my PSP->Computer's Mic Port

EDIT: My hardware's pretty bad. Maybe I can find a way to record it on my DVD Recorder instead or something, but right now I can't rip it without it having too much noise

It's getting dead here... I guess I shall put out something to discuss, lol.

So, the 3rd set of unlockables in Taiko 13 are not yet announced. I'm going to take a wild guess on what the songs might be.

1. Mint Tears. This is pretty much confirmed, so no need to bring up any other possibilities.

That brings up 2 more slots - one for a new song, and one for an Ura map.

For the new song, here are the possibilities:
- Obsession Latino (Included in Taiko 12A but not in 12, 12+ or 13.)
- Hikari no Kanata e (This is the only boss song that is not yet in an arcade version, AND does not really relate to the story.)
- Probably some whole new song that we haven't heard of...

For the Ura map, here are the possibilities:
- Hikari no Kanata e (The boss version is longer, so it's possible this will be unlocked along with the short ver.)
- Kaze no Fantasy (Angel Dream had an Ura, so this should receive one sometime.)
- The Carnivorous Carnival (Same reason as Kaze.)
- Sora II (Based on rumors)
- Probably a song in the classic or J-pop section seeing as they don't have one yet.
- Something else...?

So, what do you guys think are possibilities?

The following TaikOsu's will be left to rot in the graveyard while HS is not supported:

-Kita Saitama20000
-Hataraku2000

Angel Dream is still going through because the custom HS is limited to the Taiko difficulty only, and hopefully I can sneak that in.

Hakuuchou no Mizuumi is also worrying since I'm forced to use 0.75 and 3. I actually wanted to make the 3 into 2 instead since it's practically looking the same,

EDIT: Can someone clarify for me the notechart of Wonder Momo-i, please? I mean, there's a level change on the first note? How is that even possible? In PSP2, I always get something like Level 0 -> Level 3 on the first level change. I have no idea how to activate the level change at the first note. lepido's authentic map also reflects this as all of the Onis follow the first level 0 notes before the next level change.

Really? I thought Mint Tears was another song in the "PaPaPa Love" series, since they have similar traits (English title, vocals, annoying to pop balloons). :?

PaPaPa Love series are actually all songs from Muscle March (Wiiware). mint tears doesn't come from that game.

We were disapproved at that too.

I'll probably just... try and see if I can get away with custom HS. Seriously. I kinda don't care anymore. The reason why were shouted at in the first place was because some guy mentioned it in the open.

If I'm gonna use it I'm gonna use it discreetly. Problem is, this issue was addressed in the MAT Forums, so MATs will probably shout at anyone who's using this technique too. It's annoying.

I for one will be one of the MATs that will permit the use of it though.
