00:07:859 (3) - Slider to me seems a bit rough because of the red anchor. Removing that would result in about the same shape but the smoothness would be amazing for the song type. Also it is awkward that it doesn't have any slider-ticks involved; to essentially provide the rhythm that has occured before and repeating it wouldn't do any harm rather than stop the flow of hitsounds.
00:16:192 (4) - I think it ends too late? I don't here any other part of vocals or sounds here and the drum starts at the next white tick. I did something like to to emphasize the rhythm a little; Example
00:18:335 (1) - Can't this note be a NC and the next note to start as another NC because the note after this one has a whole different hitsound and I think emphasizing that would be nice
00:20:954 (1) - Keep the same NC but change the next one because the hard beat falls off this note 00:21:192 (2)
00:30:002 (3) - Uncessary, otherwise it would be a little difficulty for a normal difficulty map; removing it would give a sound variety and make things a little more unique with sound

-- The custom hitsound1 what I'm using is louder than the default hitsound, so better set the volume lower.

00:04:049 (1) - Soft-finish would fit better than a drum here.

00:25:002 (4) - The sound at 00:25:002 doesn't seems to be appropriate to click according to the song. I highly recommend to set a slider starting from 00:24:049 - ending at 00:24:764.
00:34:526 (3) - This is the only drum-finish being used in the kiai section, which feels quite sudden.
00:41:669 (2,3) - Personally I think a slider starting at 00:41:907 would fit better. You know, 1/1 spams aren't what [Easy] is for.

    Note: since there are notes before, I suggest to change offset to 262.
  2. Well, I don't think is a good idea adding Source in korean, since it's an anime (if I'm not mistaken) and it should be in japanese. Due this conversation we had, I guess is better adding japanese Source and korean in tags, as I've said. anyways I'd ask someone experienced with metadata stuff
  3. 00:04:038 (1) - The previous NC feels a bit "alone", I don't think there's need to add here one since vocals already started, so it would be fine here.
    Note: ignore this suggestion if it's added due SV changes or sudden stuff.
  4. Just leave 1 slider tick in all diffs since it seems like an opening and 2 slider ticks aren't needed in that case. The other option if you want is adding 2 slider ticks in all diffs due the song length. Up to you, but it's inconsistent atm.

Okay so this might not be the most useful mod to you guys, but I felt like modding a Sonnyc map because I know you make tidy maps. Gonna start with W h i t e's and add to this as I go along.

[General]

I think you should use something like a drum-hitnormal as the base hitsound, because even with the hitsounds softened, the constant jingling bugged me a little. Plus, it doesn't really set the pulse in a way that I'd like.

Also, don't be afraid to use stronger hitsounds! I think the maps could sound a little stronger in places. I'll point out a few examples, without exhausting myself.

I strongly recommend tick rate 2. There's a constant 1/2 chopping thoughout the entire song--this is the most dense recurring note value, so TR2 would fit really well.

I'm not sure if Insane works as a diff name, since the song's so gentle. You could go for custom names or just call Insane something else. Picky, I know, but it might be worth a thought.

[W h i t e's Insane]

I feel like you could up the hitsound level overall, if only so that the claps stick out properly--they blend too much with the track for my liking and as such, they don't really pop. Using a drum-hitnormal below these would at least add a subtle push to bring them out a little more.

00:03:112 (1) - This feels redundant without any notable hitsounding. I suggest putting something like a drum clap on the end, but anything that stands out a little would do. Personally, I'd just omit the slide, but I'm guessing you'd insist against that.

00:05:017 (4,5) - Even though this is obviously a structure thing, I think the jump (even when consdering slider lenience) is a little harsh for the start.

00:14:779 (5) - I'd change this to two circles, then move 00:15:254 (1) - back half a beat, since this would have a nice push with the vocals. I don't think that players would miss the downbeat here, because the vocals are so strong. Obviously, you could add a circle in the gap.

00:16:922 (4) - The jump onto this doesn't really follow any emphasis. I'd just reverse it and then possibly rearrange the following pattern to flow properly. You'd end up with more emphasis on the kick drums too.

00:28:826 (1) - I'd put a stronger hitsound on the start of this, such as a default soft whistle or soft finish. Oh and it's too long--the vocals are following a steady 1/2 pulse and this slider breaks that pulse instantly. You clearly know how to use 3/4 sliders later in the map, so don't misuse one here. I beg of you.

00:29:303 (1) - I'm not a fan of odd overlaps and I think you could just move this below the other slider. You'd get a nice oval flow leading into the triangle, so please try this. Plus, if you were to fix the previous slider, you could get a nice arc circle or a back-and-forth thing going.

00:30:493 (5) - Again, I'd like to hear a stronger hitsound on this, especially because it's on an offbeat push.

00:31:207 (6,7,1) - Possibly something on these sounds too.

00:33:112 (2,3,4,5,6,7) - The structure here feels a bit forced--you've got one pair with a jump between them and then the spacing kinda becomes arbitrary. It'd break the bigger triangle, but I'd move 6 down so that the pattern goes TWO three FOUR five SIX seven with the vocals.

00:35:731 (4) - Splitting this into two circles and ending with a finish could create a nice emphasis.

00:38:112 (1) - I'd definitely put a stronger hitsound here too.

00:40:255 (1) - I'd move the midpoint left by a grid, because the overlap looks juuuuuuuust off. I know it's picky, but I noticed it easily.

00:44:064 - I think that this section, at least, should have busier hitsounding in general, since it's approaching a climax.

00:45:731 (7,8) - I think the flow between these is awkward, in a way that can be avoided by making them flow more into each other.

00:52:398 (2) - I think you should either have a slider here to follow the vocals (maybe copy the linear slider and make a really slick pattern) or at least split 00:53:112 (4) - into circles for emphasis.

00:53:588 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,1) - I like how this was hitsounded and it's an example of how I'd like other parts of the map to sound.

[Insane]

Yeah I definitely think you should use a different base hitsound. Save the jingles for alternate whistles or something.

Again, I think that you could louden the hitsounds a little. Just my opinion.

00:08:587 (2,3) - These sliders, as nice as they are, are ending on stronger moments. Either split them into circles or have one 1/2 slider at 00:08:826 -

00:24:778 (1) - This is horrendously picky, but you could make the wave curve a bit more and make it less pointy, so that all of the blanketing looks smoother.

00:34:540 (1,2,3) - Since the rhythm here is suddenly more complex, you ought to make the spacing more varied.

00:51:921 (2,3) - I'd love it if you could avoid this slight overlap. The flow needn't be affected by doing so.

I have a vague feeling that the hitsounding could feel steadier, but other than the base hitsound suggestion, I didn't have any real problems with this. Good job.

[Hard]

00:09:064 (7) - If you were to move this back 1/2 and move it across, I think the flow would be more interesting.

00:19:303 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4) - The feel between these two combos feels too inconsistent for me. Try splitting 00:21:207 (2) - into circles.

00:28:826 (1,2,3,4,5,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4,5) - I'm not fond of how this section keeps going anticlockwise. See if you can break up the flow a bit to support the vocals.

[Normal]

00:05:255 (4,1) - I think that you could actually increase the spacing here, so that each phrase is separated in a stronger way. Not a huge jump, so it ought to be readable from combo to combo. Just a small suggestion--you absolutely don't have to use rigid spacing all the way through.

00:06:922 (2,3) - I reckon you can make this follow the vocals and thus spice up the flow in a safe way. You could just make 00:06:922 (2) - two circles, extend 00:07:874 (3) - back by a 1/2 beat and stack the second circle on top of it.

00:12:874 (5,1) - Same as the first point.

00:19:303 (2) - The phrasing might be better if you made this a 1/1 slider, put a 1/2 after it and a 1/1 slider right after, ending where (4) currently is.

00:21:921 - I think this note's too important to miss out, so see if adding a circle or extending the slider feels okay.

00:28:826 (1) - I think if you were to add a jump, this would be a good place. It'd launch the player nicely into the chorus.

Some good flow with the offbeats though--this is a much better normal than what I normally see.

[Easy]

This diff feels far too dependent on 1/1, to the point that it plods a lot. You can easily avoid this by using longer sliders to cover phrases, leaving space between vocals and maybe using some small 1/1 clusters. Just please try to break it up some.

You're also misusing hitsounds by hacking Sonnyc's hitnormal onto the slider ticks. Do not do this. Not only does it give inaccurate feedback to novices, it defeats the point of a slider and generally makes everything sound flat.

00:04:064 (1,2,3,4,5) - You could convey this phrase more meaningfully through the use of longer sliders. Since this is a fundamental change (but one that should be useful, I swear!), I've knocked up a rough pattern as an example. At least in my opinion, it's expressive enough while feeling nice and smooth:



You could rework the end of this, so that you could lead into a slider starting at 00:07:874 - and ending on the offbeat at 00:09:540 -

00:10:731 - I would then start the following combo here with two circles. You'd get a nice separation between the phrases and novices would have ample recovery time.

00:11:683 - You could use a similar pattern to the one I suggest, or you could just put three 1/1 circles here, then try something like the following pattern. It would guide the player off the beat, while feeling nice and easy to follow:



00:29:779 (2) - Try extending this by 1/2, so that it rebounds with the vocal offbeat. Again, it'd give some variance and interest. If it were me, I'd also remove the following beat to create space, then put the NC on 00:32:160 (3) -

00:34:541 (3) - You could extend this by 1/2, put a repeat on it and change it to an arc.

00:36:445 (1) - You could shorten this by 1/2, put a repeat on it and make a pattern with the previous combo, after applying my suggestion for that.


00:41:684 (2,3) - This 1/2 is a bit sudden and there's nothing leading into this. If you really want this rhythm, then put a 1/1 slider on 00:41:207 - to lead the player more smoothly.

00:45:731 - Since you just introduced a 1/2 rhythm, you could start a slider here and end it on the beat, then do similar things to maintain the 1/2 feel later in the chorus. Like the phrase at 00:47:874 (1,2,3) - as the melody climaxes here.

00:51:684 (1) - This linear slider feels very out of place, like it needs a new home. Either introduce linear sliders before this or smooth this one out.

Ok I changed what D33D has said. I changed my rhythm and so it doesn't fully depend on 1/1 sliders. I implemented in reverse sliders to flow with the lyrics and 1/1 only on occasions. I also took out most of the timing points because it's too reliant on hitsound ticks and now listening to it closer it leaves hitsound spaces that vocals can make up for. I hope this will do and thanks for the mod D33D.
