So, at the moment i'm able to clear 3-4 star maps and im using the razer deathadder chroma with 2000dpi. I've heard/seen that more than 2000dpi bad is. So i wanna ask if i should continue with 2000dpi and try to get better with it, go down slowly or go down with a big jump?
Thanks for all replies

I used 3600 and got to 11k.. All preference. You just need to be good with it

Im playing with 800dpi myself and im here at 41k. been playing for a year.

All about preference but I use 1600 dpi 125hz I'm 20k after a year. All up to you if u r good at 2000dpi than I would stick to it. Mainly just choose one you're comfortable with.

2k is too much, most people use something around 1k or lower, but going a bit over 1k if it feels better for you is ok aswell.

Ugh I hate it when people say this kind of things

any dpi can work, granted it's lower than 5k or something, Doomsday one of the best if not the best mouse player uses 3150 DPI and his precision and snapping with mouse are unmatched.

You can achieve anything with anything in osu, you just have to play MORE and train HARD.

I personally used 3500 dpi, then 1600, then 2k.

I am switching to a tablet (ordered already) soon because I can't get used to my mouse grip, and it's generally a shitty mouse for osu, so why not spend the money i would on getting a 2nd mouse, and get a tablet.

Doomsday is playing with 1300 DPI

Don't imply that you you know better than someone who has been playing this game for 5 years and has over 120,000 plays, because you don't. You have no idea what you're talking about, and you're wrong, so stop.

dpi does not matter at ALL, you can use 5000 DPI and still have the same effective DPI as someone using 400 dpi if you're on some HD 34" monitor and theyre on 800x600 [a common setting even these days]
Ekoro
i have less than 800 dpi, probably less than 400 because i lowered every sensitivity, on windows (5/11 instead of 6/11) and on osu! (x0.5), and i'm around #600.

as long as you're fine with it, then it's good, but if you experiment problems, then try with something else. i can't suggest anything about it since my configuration is way too weird/uncommon and i'm probably one of the few people that are playing with it.

You're wrong and that's ignorant.

There's a good reason for this and that is because at lower sensitivities, you gain control.
It's a linear trend. You want to go as low as you can just to the point where you can still move your arm fast enough between jumps. This is why 400 dpi works for people in not just osu!, but also in fps games like cs. Of course, some people are limited by other factors such as desk space and whatnot, so mileage may vary.

The higher your sensitivity, the harder you make the game for yourself, the more effort that's required to get better (generally).

I'd say 2000 dpi is close to pushing it; it might be okay if you're running a 4k monitor, but if you're not, I'd recommend going with a slightly lower sensitivity.

It is preference, but imo, if in-game sensitivity is set to x1 and windows is on 6/11, DPI shouldn't go above 1600. However, it is all up to what is comfortable for you. I personally started playing with 2500 DPI, but eventually changed to 1200, the lowest I could bear, and I'm happy about this decision.

when i played with mouse i used 1800 DPI so i dont really think 2000 is to much.

It's a matter of personal preference. Higher dpi means faster and lower dpi means more accurate.

Some people with high dpi will say that they don't think about that dpi a exageration, the opposite with lower dpi people.

Actually, you don't need to think if is too much or precious little. If you play good and feel that you're improving with that, there are no problem.

Play what you're comfortable with

I was on 2k dpi as well on my deathadder. Just a few days ago I changed to 1.1k dpi and I would say there is a noticeable gain in mouse accuracy, but even then, I would say play with what you're comfortable with. If you want to experiment and use a different dpi, go ahead, no one is stopping you and if you want to stick with your current dpi there's nothing wrong with that as well.

I went from 5000 to 4000 to 2000 to 500 to 400.

400 dpi master race.

It's very rare to see anyone with a high sensitivy (effective dpi for whatever resolution they use or whatever) at high ranks. It's even rarer to see anyone who actually went from low sens to higher sens (not counting people who tried low sens for a while and went back to higher). It is very common to see people go from high sens to lower sensitivities.

I'd give lower sensitivities a serious try, if you've got the desk space to spare. Trying out new things won't make you a worse player. It's always up to you to decide how you want to play.
