At the moment, we have three sample sets: Normal, Soft & Drum.
Our idea was to add three more sample sets: Oriental, Electronic & Hardcore
These are mainly for more convinience when using the editor and wanting to hitsound, especially for things like the Monthly Beatmapping Contest.
Thanks to LKs, There's now a new example map for all three sets, It shows how they can be used, and it even has a song for each one.

doesn't seem really that necessary, but helpful nonetheless

personally I would just replace drum with your electronic set because I do not like that set at all lol. In very rare cases do I actually use the default hitsounds it has. I rarely see other people use it too. And the oriental set could be a nice extra

Just because you don't use it doesn't mean no one else does, replacing a whole sampleset is ridiculous and would mess up many maps hitsound-wise.

I love my faic this idea! Especially the oriental set since it's really commonly used.

Oh, and I use the drum samplesets in every map I make Winber ;)

I agree.

Well, pretty nice idea I guess but as winber already said nothing necessary because custom hitsounds can do this as well lol

bruh adding custom hitsounds takes like two seconds

and for the monthly beatmapping contest, in the extra words that are sent to the judges you can include those hitsounds in a dropbox or w/e and send it im sure

but i like the examples u provided, probably going to use them for myself now thanks

take a star

As a lazy person to look for custom hitsounds, I support this, more hitsounds variety would be very nice

What is the licencing on the samples here?

I honestly have no clue, But I think most of these originated from LKs' pack and afaik he produced most of them by his own.
If you are actually interested in this idea, you can try to contact LKs and get him to produce his own samples of the same style with his copyright.

Edit: Alternatively, you could try Shiro considering she records her own samples too.

Almost all samples from my pack were made by myself and as for the remainder, although their origin can by no means be found(most of them have been being used for years), I can also produce similar ones. so I guess licencing won't be an issue? All softwares/expansion packs I use are open to the public and can be bought/downloaded on the internet

If you permit, I shall work along with Priti and try to produce a few very representative packs that fit different styles of music

Three samplesets is already enough imo - making 5 or even more would confuse new mappers and will encourage badly hitsounded maps; Normal, Soft & Drum are suitable for almost every song as reasonable default (thought i personally don't like Drum samples much) - for rest having Custom Hitsounds Library with regular updates is more than enough.

Yay, it's done thanks to LKs!
We also added a new sampleset called "Hardcore" which should be quite nice for electronic or techno songs.

Sounds really interesting, it changes from the "classic" samplesets we have. And well, those new samplesets are good, so i hope they will be added!
quiz-chan_DELETED
sounds far more epic than it really is, especially if you think about it.

But we GOTTA have that Electronic sampleset, really...! so many maps that I map to songs that really would support such.

I really like this idea
captin1
this really should considered, it'd help prevent some of the really minor dq's from custom hitsounds not meeting being correctly configured
Kinshara
This is an awesome idea! As a mapper, this would be really helpful and cut down the search for finding customs.
