Problem Details:

Custom combo burst sounds sometimes don't play,

This is the part of the .ini I'm using for the sounds
"CustomComboBurstSounds: 50,100,200,300,400,500,600,700,800,900,1000,1100,1200"
I can guarantee it is in the correct section, because otherwise the sounds would play at the standard 30, instead of the 50 I have specified

Video or screenshot showing the problem:

http://youtu.be/jzXx5FbYiD8,
I should have gotten a sound at all these timings (x50 combo, missing combo sounds marked in red):
0:14
0:38
1:07
1:22
1:36
1:51
2:09

osu! version: 20141030.8 (latest)
Deimos
red: no sound; clear: sound
0:14 - Combo 50x on Slidertick
0:38 - Combo 50x on Sliderend
1:07 - Combo 50x on Sliderstart
1:22 - Combo 50x on Sliderend
1:36 - Combo 50x on Sliderend
1:51 - Combo 50x on Sliderstart
2:09 - Combo 50x on Sliderend

Actually everything is fine. CustomComboBurstSounds is a feature which got added for the mode 'Taiko', I think as an equivalent to the ComboBurst in Standard. So everything looks fine since Taiko-specific difficulties don't contain sliders (iirc), so only circles and spinners.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Dang, didn't know it's supposed to be a Taiko feature, better move over to the implement forum and ask for Osu support ;_;

It's not supposed nor intended to be a mode specific feature.

How come it flat out doesn't work with osu! standard then? Is it just not supposed to work at all?

It needs to be changed so that it will work. There is no sense in restricting it to one mode.
