Can someone help me on how to crop a character out for section passes and spin meters and stuff?


Something like this:
[Bystander]
You can remove a character from a background using the Paths tool in Gimp.
Add a transparency layer and start drawing paths to delete the background.
Really nice results but can take a long time.

My trick to get that 3d look is to create a duplicate layer of the circle.
Place one layer above the characters and one below.
Then edit the above circle and delete the appropriate area.
Not sure if this is how other people do it...

I remember there was this really good post about how to crop characters and the character was shana from shakugan no shana

I would think this is how people do it.
