Yeah lol, I'm just a 2k scrub. Playing non-ranked mainly since I hate teaming up with random people that don't speak English in ranked, and the people on my friendlist rarely even touch ranked.Remco32 wrote:

I'd much rather wait than see people ragequitting pubs just because someone else picked Techies before they did. That, and the huge amount of people picking Techies even if they don't know how to play them (see for reference: Arteezy during Allstar Match). September's gonna be a tough month for regular players. >_>

Techies along with Pudge (and probably sniper?) are the core of DotA. Techies not being in it would be a disgrace. Next to that, it will open a lot of new possibilities which will be fun to witness. And yes it will fuck up your public matches, but cmon it's public. You can't expect a good game when solo queueing to begin with in dota. I also can't wait for these new custom maps to unfold. Omni Party (Uther Party), Vampirism, Sheep Tag, Tree Tag etc. etc. I've played all these games SO many times in Warcraft 3. And I'm also keeping my fingers crossed for an Escape Gay Heaven maze game. Those were hiliarious.

i really liked the Dragon's Ascension's set. that was the last one i was really happy with :<
I liked the last Phantom Lancer set because it was different from all other sets, most other item sets especially out of the new treasures just seem to be.. the same.

Puck set's cool and all, with all the mastery gems and whatnot, but it's definitely not what I'd spend all that money for. All in all, that particular chest is definitely overpriced, and the sets themselves will drop in price pretty soon anyway (as they already are starting to drop).

All Furion sets look the same, I don't get why there are more than 3 anyway

This character is hands down the funnest ive ever played.
5-1 overall on it
if anyone wants to play with a new scrub with a barely positive win/loss add me up. i ended up going from 28-24 to 28-27 because of the 3 games in a row with leavers, and no it wasn't in low priority queue just bad luck...

Get used to it, ragequitters can be found pretty often at this day and age. And it will only increase when Goblin Techies are added (which is announced to happen in the next 2 weeks).
I just hope the balance patch hits the game soon. Deathball push strats are way too powerful... and abused because of that.

Not confirmed yet. It's a rumor, yes, considered true thanks to gosugamers, but it's not confirmed. To tell the truth, I'd much rather have Bulldog leave Alliance, since the team is too heavily depending on him and rat dota strats. Which is not likely to change even if the 'new Alliance roster' comes true (with MiSeRy and fng or Wagamama replacing s4 and EGM).
What I'm really interested in is what their team's name will actually be.
I mean.... they're not seriously planning on playing using THAT name right?

so apparently Techies works as a nice counter for Huskar, throw 2-3 barrels around you and when Huskar uses Life Break (for example out of the jungle, apparently Huskar players love doing it) to get to you just detonate them, free kills <3

Too many people claiming they know how to play techies, when really, all they know how to do is plant mines near the secret shops.

There are no people in your average pub that knows how to play with Techies
For days like these I'm happy I reached 5k+ where everybody tryhards enough to not pick Techies.
I know one guy who had all his frontpage matches with Techies and not once has the team with Techies won. They need to watch some good old Ritter DotA to see how2play Techies (in the Phillipines)

Except there were some ranked games (I think there were 3 this day) were people picked techies and then continue to suck horse balls right after.

techies is pretty much spirit breaker in reverse in terms of my reaction to him being on my team or the enemy team.
this seems like a bad april fools joke, are they going to remove him when they release the full patch? hes useless for anything but turtling out a losing game and maybe winning if you have better late game heroes and the enemy supports havent farmed the entire map to 6 items while you were doing it.

As a tinker player, I am very sad with this patch 
Riki became a league of legends hero. Juking and warding just became 10x easier. The bounty rune seems... I don't know. Silly. I don't like it so far but I have to see it in action. Weaver will be top pick every game together with terrorblade and legion commander. Venomancer will be high tier as well from what I can see.
I haven't played this game for more than 2 hours but from reading the patch notes I think snowballing has been reduced by a pretty significant amount with this patch, similar to what happened to League of Legends a couple months ago. I might try the game out again once the patch hits live.
I love how Doom doesn't mute passives anymore. They also gave more chances to counter LC which I loved to see as well. The removal of Composite, Universal and HP Removal seems kinda weird but in the end they were not needed anyway.

You remember the patch when Centaur got reworked and got his totally overpowered ultimate (it used to stun with more damage and a lower cooldown iirc) and Drow got her new aura which basically gave you free ranged mega creeps permanently? The back toning on these two heroes is the most I remember, but then again I hadn't been following the changelogs much 4 years ago so I probably missed many things back then. Also 1000 Phoenix reworks.

Well it's getting good for getting good with this one particular hero, but in my opinion to get good in Dota in general you should play a diversity of heroes (and also positions).

Once you got the advanced mechanics, feel free to play other heroes
Dota is really fun with friends, so try to find guys that have a good experience and play with them. Im definately sure you'll learn with them
