This is my first post on the forums so I don't know much about this kind of stuff, so I have some questions regarding on how to make beatmaps and upload them. For a start, I know how to make beatmaps by editing other people's beatmaps (a.k.a. clearing all notes and adding in my own) I do this because I am relatively new to making beatmaps and doing the timing for certain songs are difficult for me. My question is: Can I upload an edited beatmap, or do you have to make your own from scratch?

yea you could get in trouble if you upload a copy, so keep that in mind when you're mapping.

Yeah, I suggest that you don't upload someone else's work that you just edited it a bit .
You can always look and observe, like "why did that person do that at this part of the song."
Or like "Oh, so that's how that person timed it." You know, things like that .
But in all terms, you should just try and make a beatmap yourself and see your errors and see what's "not right" .
