I agree they kinda played poorly in the finals but they are still the fucking second best team in the world right now. Put your western fanboyism down for a while and accept the fact that the chinese teams are superior at the moment.

they didn't crush EG or C9. DK had a terrible day. ViCi only had one strat and it was really embarassing to watch them fail like that in the finals.

But well, in -cm mode I had to play with 4 people who were 1000 MMR lower than me and I guess it's kinda worse? But not by a big margin
The best method is still to get a high impact hero yourself if you want to reach a higher level/MMR. Those include Wraith King, DOOM, Zeus, Lich, Axe (if you can play him) or simply your favorite/best heroes (I should rephrase my sentece: The best method is to get a hero where you can easily make a high impact with, which are most probably your favorite heroes or really easy/simple strong heroes like Lich).
As a support, make sure to buy smoke. I'm pretty sure that 90% of the people don't have much map awareness in early game, so smoke gang (maybe with a tp top if you're bot lane and vice versa // or simply going mid) can make a big difference.
When picking a hero, do make sure that your hero isn't immediately countered by the opponents though. I usually wait 'til the last second to pick my hero (not on 0:00 mark or you'll get lags and lose 5-10 gold) to ensure that I don't get countered.
OR I counter them myself. Most often with DOTABUFF.com lol. Just look who the opponent's core hero is. Go on DOTABUFF and look that hero up and see where his highest disadvantage is against.
I once picked safelane-Ursa just to counter Invoker-Ember-Void because I rememberd the advantage-disadvantage-stats and it worked wonders

Learn to properly last hit creeps since you' get a gold advantage
Denying creeps is a MUST since you need to deny the enemy with XP
As for builds, go at the suggested items and you're good to go

Also, get ready to rage at those towers. They are ridiculous to every LoL player and you will see what I mean. The best way to get used to it is getting hit by that tower a lot so you can kinda have a feeling when and when he won't attack you

Yeah I played my very first DotA game at a LAN party. I chose Crystal Maiden because I knew her from the campaign (Jaina Proudmoore) and started feeding endlessly. My friends had no mercy.

Techies along with Pudge (and probably sniper?) are the core of DotA. Techies not being in it would be a disgrace. Next to that, it will open a lot of new possibilities which will be fun to witness. And yes it will fuck up your public matches, but cmon it's public. You can't expect a good game when solo queueing to begin with in dota. i really liked the Dragon's Ascension's set. that was the last one i was really happy with :<
I liked the last Phantom Lancer set because it was different from all other sets, most other item sets especially out of the new treasures just seem to be.. the same.

Puck set's cool and all, with all the mastery gems and whatnot, but it's definitely not what I'd spend all that money for. All in all, that particular chest is definitely overpriced, and the sets themselves will drop in price pretty soon anyway (as they already are starting to drop).

Get used to it, ragequitters can be found pretty often at this day and age. And it will only increase when Goblin Techies are added (which is announced to happen in the next 2 weeks).
I just hope the balance patch hits the game soon. Deathball push strats are way too powerful... and abused because of that.

Not confirmed yet. It's a rumor, yes, considered true thanks to gosugamers, but it's not confirmed. To tell the truth, I'd much rather have Bulldog leave Alliance, since the team is too heavily depending on him and rat dota strats. Which is not likely to change even if the 'new Alliance roster' comes true (with MiSeRy and fng or Wagamama replacing s4 and EGM).
What I'm really interested in is what their team's name will actually be.
