So, I'm planning to upgrade my headphones from the generic ones I have to some better ones. I've had a look around and I'm interested in Skullcandy's Hesh 2.0 headphones. The reviews seem to be good but I don't know if their are any better alternatives out there. So, what kind of headphones would you recommend to someone on a budget who wants good sound quality?

It would help greatly if you would tell your budget, as for some people budget is 30€ and for some it is 600€.

I hear these are really good for the price, highly reviewed too.

Depends on your budget of course.

I own an ATH-M50 and I can say they are really good. However, it's not perfectly flat for a studio headphone (unlike my Samson "I forgot the model"). Kinda a little bit more trebbly (if you're used to bass sounds) and bassy (if you're aiming for a really flat sound).

They're still pretty much the overall best headphones you can get for less than 200 bucks.

If you're fine with earbuds, then the klipsch S4 is extremely good. Even better than the ATH-M50s (which I own as well), imo, and at half the price. Otherwise, I agree that ath-m50s are very good.

But whatever you do, please do not get skullcandy unless you value looks over sound quality.
