if Crimea became a Russian region.
i think it's the most suitable solution since crimea dominated by people which speak russian

I was watching the news and they were interviewing Crimean people; they are yelling off Ukrainians, NATO and the EU as fascists and nationalists.
I think some part of the USSR still remained intact in a certain Russian-dominated autonomous region of Ukraine.

i think the two things that would lead to a peaceful conclusion are

1) crimea gets annected by russia and putin is happy and puts his schlong of the table

or

2) putin suddenly has a stroke/heartattack/reads 4chan and drops dead and somebody with less steel in his balls gets the power over russia.

since 2 is very unlikely to happen, it will probably end up being 1.

Except I don't think the USA+UN will let this situation in favor of Putin.
To be serious, it's scarring me a bit, may be the 3rd ww if something goes wrong.

i don't think putin is dumb enough to really risk a 3rd world war.

a world war where he has the bad cards especially.

I don't think he's in as large of a disposition as you think. If he places an embargo with countries willing to support Ukraine in this struggle he can still trade with China and maintain a certain financial level while most of Europe takes a HUGE economical hit which none of us want to have happen.

i don't think that china wants to piss off the west who are the main reason why they are even relevant today :P

Why would China piss anyone off by not being one of the countries getting shut off from trading with Russia like normal?
Tanzklaue
it would go like this:

US: "ey china, we hate russia now"
China: "eh, I'm fine with russia"
US: "well we won't buy your shit then anymore"
China: "NO PLEASE BUY CHEAP PLASTIC PRODUCTS AND CLOTHING!"
Lewder
I get that you're only partly serious about this, but then China goes "pay denbts" and the US shuts up

putin can have crimea and then ukraine can be partitioned into people that are reasonable about their future and submissive communists who live in the past

no points if you can figure out which side is which

Ukrainian news are about as censored as Russian ones, so I don't see them as credible sources

It's pretty hilarious to hear news anchors tell you how russian government is against the Crimea annexing and the troops are here to protect mysterious Russia citizen masses living here for whatever reason though.

Now that you have done a nice copy pasterino of that quote behind your pc, I bet things will finally change.

Things change all the time.

You truly believed that me posting that quote was specifically meant to help the situation in Ukraine?
Lewder
He's saying that you don't look wise or philosophical for posting what someone on the internet came up with after rewriting an existing quote and slapping a more well-known name on it.
ylikki
It was easier to use the quote than point out various reasons why nobody can really do anything about the situation right now.

During the gezi "riot" in Turkey last summer, a 14 year old kid was put into a coma by police while the kid was out to buy a bread.

So yeah this morning he died, things never change.

So, basically, the population of Crimea is going to decide whether they want to reunite with Russia or not. The joke is that territorial questions are supposed to be discussed on a country and not region level. Which is funnier when it's the region in question doing the choice. Well who gives a fuck about laws when they're not in your favor right?

When taking it into a big perspective, it's true that participation of foreign forces in Ukraine's revolution was most likely not limited only to Russia and looking at what's going on in the Ukraine power struggle, it wouldn't be surprising that some territories would be annexed in one way or another sooner or later, at the very least in my opinion. But was the power play from Putin really that necessary to take over that area? Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't. What's concerning there is not the Crimea conflict, it's the tendention it's following.

On a related topic, mass media is getting more and more pressured over here. What's most saddening it's not only the opposition-biased resourses, the ones that were good at staying as neutral as it's possible are getting lead positions swapped or pressured into closing as well.

I know you knobheads give no fuck about that shit though, well sorry, I don't have a blog and I'm kinda sad about the flow of events over the past years.
