TBH I can't really tell between high quality standard definition and HD. I think you would need perfect vision to be able to notice the difference without making a side-by-side comparison.IppE602 wrote:

If so, there is a clear difference between that and 1080p if you tend to watch stuff fullscreened all the time.

Well my LCD monitor ain't Iiyama or the like, but surely a middle-of-the-road Samsung at 1680 x 1050 ain't THAT bad.
All I'm saying is, for me, there is not a great enough visual difference to warrant the huge increase in file size.
Also: I think pretty much all laptop screens suck ass, once you're used to a decent desktop one.
