Good/Bad habits that you developed from osu

I was wondering what habits people develop after playing osu for a while.

Things like spacing out more often, or pain on wrist or fingers, that sort of things. For me I seem to space out more often and just rely on my natural instincts to carry me throughout a boring session of history class. I also tap my index finger randomly now which can get annoying because when I stop its sore.

How about you?
Trash Boat
play Taiko more often than other modes, and post in forums

Randomly tapping to songs in my head. (I sometimes bring my pencil into it if I have one in my hand.)

I usually end up doing that as well, except my pencil is just flying around as if it was a pen for my tablet :P

That's what I meant when I bring my pencil. Tapping your pencil to non existent music is a inconsiderate thing to do because it can be very distracting/annoying.

Believe it or not, tapping with pencils was a thing in my middle school years ago, and it is one of the reasons why I don't like American rap that goes on today

You act like tapping shit to music is rare.
Kyonko Hizara
I stopped giving fucks about things I used to

I now live the life of the kawaii princess overlord of 5 different dimensions

Whenever I hear Nano.Ripe - Gekka on the radio, I start picturing the beatmap in my head and tapping/playing it with an invisible mouse/keyboard. (memorized all the circles in that song kekekeke)

Good: Better motor coordination maybe?
And by osmose, I got more easy going. Which is good, I don't like when I'm cranky or cynic. But that's my normal 'persona' :/

Bad: Felt some pain, but I'm taking care to prevent it.

Guess that's it.

I think there was a topic just as this, a week ago or something...

I frequently google "rule 34 (title of animu)" now

I imagine a map for every songs I listen in my MP3 player. I make the beatmap in my head, but I can't in real life, this is too hard. :<

I raidcheck the forum regularly for Touhou pics.

Well there is one thing.

When I am listening to some random song in the radio or youtube or whatever, I always start to imagine the song as a map/storyboard.

"Maybe I should do that" but then I am always too lazy to start it up.

Good Thing: I learned to smoke more weed when I played a lot. It helped to laugh at all that weird music
Bad Thing: I wouldn't answer my phone

This thread is pretty interesting to me but in a negative way.

Most of these responses are generalized around how important people's ability to tap fast has become to them. Whereas when an extremely similar thread was made about three or so years ago, most of the responses where about how people learned to appreciate, or gained a greater appreciation of music through osu!

Kind of OT from the thread but being the nostalgia fag I am I can't help but point this out.

you're from 2009, you're a newfag.

If this counts, osu! only served as a gateway for me to become the bemanifag I am today.

Prior to osu!, I only listened to metal and was edgy as fuck, so I guess I'm greatful for that.

thats funny, because i only see 1 response about tapping fast in this thread. i knew nostalgia made the past look better, but apparently it also makes you see things in the present that arent there.
or maybe you just like to hate on people for no reason.

The good thing is that I met a bunch of new music, now I listen a lot of Japanese rock/pop. The bad thing: My friends are always like "WTF are you listening to?"

Gladly, mine is mostly an instrumental. At first it was pretty good.
Then it comes to be the time that I want to concentrate to anything... :o

Good: make me more responsive
Bad: laziness to complete any f**king thing in my life... (especially my maps :o), wasted money for tablet and changed me from happy to grumpy in 3 months

-Left middlefinger got really achy after a few weeks of playing mouse+keyboard, couldn't take streaming at all. Switched to ringfinger and had no probs since.
-I get angrier and angrier at my own lack of ability every time I play this game, dammit.
-Mouse accuracy has improved quite a bit.

In school, when I'm not writing, I'm actually doing spinners with my pencil. Even though I use mouse
hersa37
I have a hard time using a mouse with higher sensitivity than 600, heck I'm struggling with 600 or anything below 400, even though I used to use 1600 before. Also, I don't need a music player anymore whenever I go anywhere. I played so much that the songs are basically drilled into my head and I can replay those I want to hear
Ikikaera
I can hit the esc key fast and precisely without missing.

I can click faster and spin my mouse in sexier circles. Ya know, important life skills.

To be able to retry at the speed of light is a handy skill to have.

Also, even though I don't use a mouse to play I find myself moving it in a much more efficient manner than before.
kouzuki_karen
playing songs in my head and starting to tap to the rhythm using my fingers

also secretly practicing drumrolls
Restless Spirit
Good thing is I immedeately move my cursor and click on something the first second I notice it, giving me an edge in various games or reducing the time something takes by a few seconds. On the downside, I sometimes double-click automatically even if I didn't intend to, leading to various angry moments on the computer.
10crystalmask01
Good habit = Better, quicker reflexes.
eeezzzeee
i can tap to any song i hear! listening to music has never been so fun!
i'm a weirdo
Ikikaera
I don't miss my 0,5 cm wide tabs in my browser anymore. I also don't accidentally close 'em anymore.
That was a huge problem before I started playing osu!.

^^^ those have become an everyday occurrence
also, insomnia, going for runs while listening to brain, and incessant OCD combined with sped-up reflexes.

forgot to mention that i now have a song reference for nearly every moment in life :? :( :o :)

Good/Bad habits (or rabbits whatever you guys like):
- Obsessed with getting above the A - rank, I only like S and SS which means that sometimes I will not give up on a song and play for long hours just trying to get S or SS.
- I never ragequit on osu, this makes me upset.
- I'm addicted playing beatmaps made from video games music and anime music.
- I'm not sure if playing this song and "/np-ing" it when Remi_Flan is around on the osu channel is trolling or complete madness.
Trash Boat
Its complete madness, trolling is worse, Trust me
