That's exactly how I play as town when I get a handle on the game. Aggressive as fuck.
That was me playing as town, btw. I wasn't even planning on playing to win until LyLo if I lasted that long. Lynching the last fire scum was truly the worst possible scenario for town regardless of abilities. The best shot town had of winning was for ice mafia to be lynched, since that would completely eliminate Ice Mafia's secure foothold in the game and make both mafia teams absolutely have to gun for each other instead of having the option to go for town instead.
Pretty much what I described as the optimal strategy for scum was my honest feeling on it, and NoHitter was pretty much the only person that was playing to that exact playstyle down to a T.

I never would have guessed you being fire scum. at first I thought Dake was scum and there was an associative with Dake and then I swear you scumslipped during our 1v1. also, the "scumslip" you came up with made me more sure you would flip scum and the associative just tied everything into place. so I thought you were a safe lynch. then YOU FLIPPED FIRE SCUM and I was like "...fuck" and then ice scum apparently had a daykill the whole time and alskdjghegas
the only time I gave mafia an extra kill I disabled it in LyLo to prevent stuff like this from happening o/
my reads were ok though so if it weren't for that daykill we prob could have won, especially considering my main scumread would have claimed PR and turned that shit right around

Yeah, ice mafia had three chances to lose a guy and all three were foiled.
pieguy1372: Your meta on me really isn't that great. This is actually the very first time I've ever turned a scum read into an obvtown read as mafia, but that doesn't even mean much since having accurate reads was the only way I could possibly win in that situation. My last post was going to give two examples (the only two times I remember doing it, both as town), but MS is down. >:/
EDIT: I lied about having two examples actually, since the second one was lost in a crash. There's "pseudo-evidence" of it though.
it wasn't a meta read it was bc your turnaround on him seemed really weird and I figured it would make the most sense in the context of you two being teammates. I didn't buy your reasons for obvtowning him cause he wasn't backing up any of his statements. so I didn't see any reason why scum wouldn't be able to make stuff up and state it "firmly" like you were claiming. that and I didn't agree with your point that the way he was playing would make him look obvtown, for the same reason

People with the exact same power role is incredibly rare in games smaller than like 20-25 people. Just both people claiming the same thing would instantly mean at least one of them would be lynched, while the other would be a heavily favored target afterwards.

I didn't reveal the fact that there was another vote in the game because it would have drawn too much attention to the doublevoters. There was also a lot of quirky shenanigans I could have pulled with it, but that's irrelevant right now.
If it becomes clear to one of the mafia teams that one pair were exactly the same, then the second mafia on the opposite team claimed something that matched his role exactly, then suddenly that first mafia team gains a huge advantage. It's a way for one mafia team to know the entire identity of the other team, and the second team won't even know until they've been exterminated or the game ends. It's a very swingy thing that could turn an otherwise solid strategy into a losing one just from that alone.
Having similar roles (as was done here) doesn't give as much of a clue as to who the scum are based on roles alone. It's even less of an indication if the town has one as well.

just saying caligno, i played this game under the assumption that the two scumteams were perfectly mirrors - in a game like this you have infinite fakeclaim possibilities, even a lot of safe ones thanks to a joat in your team

Fire and Ice are opposed, so I figured i'd give both JOATs powers that are the opposite of each other. Also the hidden ability of the goons was originally completely opposite (double voter vs an ability that makes someone voteless) but i decided on the vote freeze since it was more themed to ice in the ice team.
