doesn't this mean the replay has to be saved in your replay folder? since i doubt it will get saved in osu database because people do fail/retry alot lol
No, just in memory, but I suppose allowing the F2 key to work at that screen would dump it to your replays folder.Gabi wrote:

I know it would be useful to me, and I think it probably wouldn't help but I wouldn't go out and say that with confidence because I don't know how other people play.bbobjs wrote:
Do you just feel that the option wouldn't be useful to you or do you think it probably wouldn't help the average player in the long run?Yoshi348 wrote:
I don't exactly feel that it looks that useful myself, but on the other hand I'm always for nearly any feature from the DS games that hasn't been implemented yet, so support.
My understanding is that implementing this feature wouldn't require Osu! to do anything it isn't currently doing already; it's just allowing you to view data that you wouldn't otherwise have access to. The replay would be cleared from memory before you started a new song, just like it is now (unless you choose to save it locally as james039 pointed out).Gabi wrote:

That's sort of an unintended consequence and although I personally don't want it, I see no good reason to restrict it.0_o wrote:
An extention of this would be the option to save a failed replay. I would like that

I think this would be quite useful.
Shouldn't that also be posted in bug reports?strager wrote:
I noticed you can save a replay after failing a multi match, and it records fine (except the failure isn't detected when replaying).

This is also a feature found in the Ouendan games known as Review. I'm surprised that this was never implemented in osu!
+1 Support
Allot of the times when I fail on a fast/complex stream I'm not even sure what I failed to. Did I fail because I wasn't getting enough 300s, did I fail because I missed a note, did I fail because I batched a pattern? Sometimes I'm simply not sure, especially on the first time I encounter it. True I could watch the song on auto, but then I'm watching allot of what I don't actually need to see, also I'm not actually playing. True I could also go into edit mode and alter the map to practice that one pattern but that's time consuming and complicated; generally I only need to see what I did wrong once or twice to make sure I don't do it the next time. It's a completely different type of helpful than seeing the computer do it perfectly and quite a bit faster and easier than going into edit mode just to learn one pattern.Sir Minelli wrote:
Meh I personally dislike this.
If you want to learn a particular pattern, use some of the mods available... watch osu! on auto and learn it, or for those who know how to, go edit the map and practice.
I don't really see a point of watching a replay after say... 5 seconds of playing and then failing.
Learn from your mistakes by playing it again.
I see this as a low priority feature really, don't know what peppy thinks about this.
