Has getting a pen tablet changed your way to play osu? I'm having loads of fun with the mouse and keyboard but I want to venture into higher level difficulties and it's just nearly impossible with a mouse :(.

Also, I read the wiki about choosing a pen tablet - I can't seem to find any Wacom Bamboo Splash Pen Tablet on the internet anymore :(.

What do you recommend?
(maybe the new model, Wacom CTL480 Intuos Pen Tablet?)

i got worse by using tablet so personally i wouldnt recommend it. but seeing as a lo of people like using tablet, i'd recommend getting ctl-470

I'd really recommend you search the forums, there's been lots of threads about this with good advice already.
That said, I changed to tablet fairly early on. Before I could consistently pass insanes. My spinning improved, but that was because my mouse spinning was unbelievably awful.
Otherwise? No big skill jump. I spent a day getting used to it and after that I just kept playing and improving the same way I would have if I had stuck with mouse.

Getting a tablet WILL NOT magically make you able to pass a bunch of songs you could never pass before, there will be times later on where you'll find that tablet or mouse have an edge in specific types of maps, but ultimately it's up to your own skill, which will improve whether you use mouse or tablet as long as you keep challenging yourself with difficult maps.

Yea, that's the model that's out of stock in popular places like amazon.

I mainly made the thread to ask tablet is a good alternative now that the recommended model doesn't seem to be produced anymore ( I think?).
What I may have been trying to ask, if I was not clear, is it more fun or rather, is it a better experience when you switched to a tablet :)?

edit: Does the CTL-480 model replace the CTL-470?

CTL-480 is just fine, I've seen many players use it in streams.

And to your questions, no. Tablet doesn't improve osu! and make it more fun, your enjoyment of the game is gonna be the same, although tablet will feel way more fun at first because you're not used to it - it'll be new and shiny. Within a week or two it's just going to be the way you play, the same way mouse is the way you play right now.

The CTL-480 is the replacement for the CTL-470. But yeah, if you're not willing to pay the cost of a Wacom tablet, the osu! tablet should work just as well.
