A bred pokemon will most likely always be legal, since the parents can't pass down illegal things.

I assume the game's checking system is the exact same as Pokemon Bank. In this case, then Pokemon Bank might actually be unable to filter out illegit but legal pokemon. (a.k.a hacked pokemon with movesets that are possible)

Some hackers have already injected a Pokemon into X/Y weeks ago, and that Gible has the pentagon. Assuming that it was hacked and not just a really elaborate prank (hatching a shiny that passed down a premier ball), then Pokebank isn't as hack-proof as Nintendo claims.

I'm still tied on whether I like or hate the idea of hacked Pokemon. I mean, I really dislike the fact that many players are put off online battling because of all of the hacked Pokemon, I was too after countless losses in W2. But I feel it can bring more to competitive play in a way as it's much easier to try out new teams without having to train them up, although Showdown can be used for that.

I'm more against it than for, mainly because I don't think it's fair on the lesser knowing audience just as much as the hardcore audience. I really just hope that these fake Pokemon don't become as easy to obtain as they where through sites such as pokegts, and I'm even more hopeful that they implement some way of stopping them from being used in battle, if it comes to that.

On another note, I love the fact a mothering Pokemon will pass down their Pokeball to the new born. Premier balls for life :P

EDIT: Maybe if gamefreak get wind of this, seeing as someone will post the method somewhere, they could stop it with a patch. *hopes*

Blazevoir, here's something that you can do, but it needs the following stuff:
-1 or 2 GameBoy Advance
-Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald
-Pokémon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum or HeartGold/SoulSilver
-Pokémon Black/White/Black 2/White 2
-a Nintendo DS(must be Nintendo DS)
-a Nintendo Gamecube
-a GameBoy Advance-Nintendo Gamecube Link Cable
-Pokémon Colloseum Bonus Disc or Pokémon Channel
-Optional: Pokémon Box

with all this stuff you should have most of the Pokémon you need to complete the Pokédex before PokéBank is online. what do you think?

I already have all Pokémon from Gen I to VI (save the unreleased Legendaries), a majority of them being on my White 2. Though it'd be nice having Pokémon Box (which I desperately needed back then), that game costs too much now.

Some real names are quite fitting with some Pokémon although it's probably funny because some of us try too hard to come up with a good, unique nickname or are too lazy to think of one and end up using real ones as a result.
"Bob" is probably the funniest I've seen (probably because it was a Gurdurr).

I once named my Gurdurr "Bob the Builder" in Finnish.

And I just literally hatched 2 eggs (Rotom n Spinda) in 2 steps.

I can't get Monsoon because you can't get a Monsoon region on NA 3DS. <_< Otherwise this would be a no-brainer.

Does anybody have a good Swift Swim Poliwhirl/Poliwag? I'm in need of a Politoed with drizzle for my team.

In terms of what to offer in return... I don't have much. I've gotten into the habit of wonder trading all breeding failures after getting my desired pokemon for the poke miles, including parents. However, I have gotten around to trading off all my Beldums and Froakies. I know some of them have decent spreads of perfect IVs but I've gotten into the habit of not even marking ones I know I won't need to use, so I can't tell you how many I have that are perfect. If someone wants a Froakie or Beldum I can check all of mine and tell you my best ones.

Today I got a 4 max IV (HP, Attack, Sp. Def, Speed) Korean Honedge. After this, I might make an Aegislash. That Pokémon is really cool after all.

Being a Grand Duke is freaking amazing, with all writs activated, challengers flood in faster than I can clear them, and their levels aren't complete shit.

Yeah it takes a while to get Grand Duke but it's definitely worth it.
Although aren't the only writs that can stack the invitation ones?

Edit: Does anyone have a Riolu with the Prankster ability or Lucario with Justified they wouldn't mind trading me? Got one now.

Had a really amazing wi-fi battle just now. I lost, after losing a prediction battle against Aegislash and getting half my team shadow-sneak'd. And then my Adamant Dragonite was outsped by a Jolly Mega-Heracross, who then Rock-Blasted past Multiscale like it wasn't even there. I could actually have won if I outsped Mega-Heracross, I think.

Wish + Baton Pass is a really nice combo especially with someone like Multiscale Dragonite, too bad the good Eevee wish-passers don't get U-Turn or Volt Switch.

I thought only one writ could be in effect at a time? Regardless, I've been meaning to level up in the Chateu as well. How long does it take/what's the fastest way to level up?

Writs only override when they do the same thing (e.g. Normal and Silver both boost rates of trainers). As for the fastest way, I'm not really sure tbh. If you can get the Gym Leaders/E4/Audino trainers often, Chateau is miles faster, but the other trainers are still pretty bad even with +20 levels.

EDIT:

You're probably better off with Matsuda Method, I think. Still pretty crappy though. (around 1k eggs in and no shiny mawile for me)

There are also rumors that the Friend Safari basically functions like a permanent 40-chain, because shinies caught in a 40-chain also have 2IVs. You could try looking for Kirlias in a Fairy Safari.

Also, PSA. Never never never never use Hyper Beam ffs. Unless you want a +2 Mega Mawile ripping your team apart like wet tissue. I just battled a guy. It was a pretty good battle at first, until he made his Aurorus use Hyper Beam and all respect just flew out of the window
