Rzewski is nice but is stylistically not thaaat similar to Ornstein. The North American Ballads, and especially, of course, the Winnsboro Cotton Mill Blues are really nice. I would name George Antheil and Henry Cowell for American composers like Ornstein, although each of them really have their own thing going on. Part of my reasoning is because Antheil and Cowell were contemporaries of Ornstein and Rzewski wasn't. Or, at least Rzewski's and Ornstein's heydays weren't concurrent. Anyways brofist for good taste :D:DD:D:DMoriya Suwako wrote:
Haha, I know Ornstein, this 110-year-old composer composed a lot of crazy piano music.iantanye wrote:

There's an American composer called Frederic Rzewski, his style is just like Ornstein, which is full of discords. (I recommand his Winnsboro Cotton Mill Blues and Four North American Ballads)
Antheil: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJUAvTCT7po
Cowell: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pgn4SQFgU9Y
I printed the score and tried learning it once. It did not end well ;_;Fzero100 wrote:
