The only one I haven't seen in that bunch is Shion no Ou so I'll go check it out~ ^^Mogsworth wrote:
Underrated anime from any genre? Sure.
Flag is an anime version of a found-footage political thriller. It's slow, powerful, and sometimes unsettling. Not for your average fan but it's easily one of the best things in the found-footage genre, period.
Hataraki Man is a lesser-known seinen slice-of-life series dealing with an adult woman with a SERIOUS work ethic working at a weekly magazine. The show goes into the trials and tribulations of adult life while never really sugarcoating it or putting it up on a pedestal. It is a bit over the top and silly at points, but its drama never feels melodramatic.
Kuuchuu Buranko is one of those shows that I still have no fucking clue about. It feels like I never watched it all, but watching it was the equivalent of an animated fever dream. Or acid trip. Maybe a little bit of both. Not quite Cat Soup-level due to the fact that it does all connect and each story in the show makes sense. It's certainly unique, though.
Kemonozume is one of those strange adult titles that manages to be weird and occasionally immature with its overuse of mature ideas. However, it's one of the ugliest things I've ever seen that manages to be even more watchable despite its oddity. It's a straightforward story, too, and probably Masaaki Yuasa's most accessible product.
I will also suggest Shion no Ou despite its major problems because it is a murder mystery based around shogi. It's pretty damn glorious.
One piece and Naruto are similar somehow to Fairy tail, they both start really...boring, mostly a bit for kids, but as the anime goes on it gets much better. If you have free time I recommend you these bothjin_churiki wrote:

Important:
A person's life-time is limited, you will need to use the time you have to the maximum extent.
This means if you don't want to waste your life, don't not watch useless shit. You will only accept the top-class materials of media like books, TV shows, and anime, that has a HIGH score on ranking websites as for multiple perspectives and reliability of the data of websites. Normally the full mark of a website 10, meaning you will only watch the shows that has a score around 9, which only takes aourn 95% to 99% of the whole information, which is an extremely effective way of saving your time.

I'll chuck in a rather nice line-up of anime you could try out as well Powersocke:
- Berserk - Brutality in its purest, animated form.
- Claymore - Limbs go flying quite a lot be it the humans, demons or Claymores themselves.
- Fist of the North Star - Another classic anime showing pure violence in a post-apocalyptic setting.
- Gantz - This is one of the most known series for its gore level.
- Afro Samurai - Quite an interesting take, especially since it was an American production.
- Ichi: The Killer - Hilarious violence in a rather screwed up character.
- Ninja Scroll - This has plenty of detailed violence in it from people being torn limb from limb to a guy drinking the blood of another.
- Baoh the Visitor - Exploding heads; need I say more?
Psycho PassPowersocke wrote:
You guys have any suggestion in terms of lots of gore, brutality and detailed violence?
And don't you dare suggest Elfen Lied, Hellsing Ultimate or anything alike. They have blood and violence, but they are missing the detail.
Looked at that thing. It definitely suits my interest in Science Fiction and if it has violence and gore, count me in.IsseiTheBest wrote:

Depends on what you are after for that "cheer up" feeling.JokerFate wrote:

anyone can suggest something ?
Depends on which genre you are after as it's really hard to recommend certain titles while trying to think if it is actually what you would be after. S;G is entirely different to the mecha-style theme for Code Geass & Guilty Crown, with the latter not being up to the level of quality either of the prior titles are.PyaKura wrote:
I'd like something on the same level as Steins;Gate. I loved this anime.

Shit meaning lower than 9.0 in Myanimelist or other database websites(forget imdb, its anime ranking system is atrocious.)
Because watching things based off of suggestions or other things you like is obviously only for people with shit taste.Apex wrote:

*Talking about Fall 2013 Anime, This thread might useful to You...
Not everyone is part of the hivemind. Everyone has their own tastes, everyone is an individual. Everything means something different to someone else. Let people like what they like, judge things for yourself. It's just anime. Also please keep in mind that the hivemind isn't always right (in particular, look at Clannad: AS and Steins;Gate). Think for yourself, life gets more enjoyable that way!Apex wrote:
What is one's opinion when compared to 400,000 voters of one anime? What is the value of a grains of sand compared to a beach? You are not sepcial, you are same with them, you are human and so are they. Saying you have different opinions than others is what an emo person will do. If 400,000 yous say this anime is good, this must be good.
Bury your self consciousness.

For current anime this fall, I recommend Samurai Flamenco, it's also underrated.
Ongoing underrated anime: Arpeggio of Blue Steel: Ars Nova. Well, it's up to you. CG-heavy anime, if you're not into that type then don't watch it. Imo it's a good one.Shirotaku wrote:
