Again, please, TIME YOUR SONGS. The "Timing" section is in there for a REASON.

Oy! >_> Check timestamp kid.
I made this song a shortly AFTER the other song. Hence, this was BEFORE you made the post about timing.

I'm well aware of such. I just feel as though you're disrespecting the hard work that peppy put into making this game by not timing the songs. It only takes an extra ten minutes... is that really too much to ask? Seriously.

I know of the hard work.... sorry. So, what ima do is this. I´ma check the guide "again".Learn more about the timing. Fix the songs and upload new version. ^_^;

Calm down now ^^;

Maybe it was just an oversight by KirbyPink as he did not read the editor guide. Maybe this guide needs to have more prominent placement (a link from in-game maybe? the first time you open the editor).

I guess it is easy to underestimate the importance of timing if you dont understand how much effect it has on the editing and gameplay process. We'll need to think about how to tack this so everyone can be at peace with each other :).

Make sure once you setup timing to resnap your beats using a suitable snap divisor and also check sliders, as their length and speed will probably change.

Another thing that might help is to download a few maps and watch their timing in Edit Mode. Believe it or not, that's what a lot of people do. =o

Thank you Peppy. Maybe a before screen at the editor that says:
Remember to read the guide and don´t forget the timing.

Haha! Lol! Hello KP, glad to see you found your way here.
Didja come here from the topic on RPM, or did you find this site on your own? Either way, it's awesome to see someone here I know a little.

I'm downloading the song now, I'll play it in a bit.

On another, slightly off topic note:

I can't believe you beat me to the first Megaman song, unless what I have so far of Ichirin no Hana counts (Rockman AMV in background).

Mwhua ha ha! ^_^ Well, not the first on the Beatmap Listing, but maybe in the Beatmap help section.
Anyhow, ima continue work on the Eggman song, fix the Megama a bit, make a sparkman and remember the timing.

Trust me on this Newbie Beaters. Timing HELPS.

I learned about the whole timing thing a while back, I watched Peppy's tutorial video and didn't really take it into consideration, but so far, timing is what's making Ichirin no Hana ~Huge Hollow Mix~ and my other songs perfect. (As far as I can tell.)

And now, i finished it. Sure i cut it down 2 mins. But it´s almost the same after those 2 minutes anyway.
Off to next song!

You should start a thread in Completed Beatmaps with this, now that it is complete. That is, if you want people to see/play it, as well as for it to be considered for ranking. This section of the forums is more for works in progress and getting others' opinion on timing and such, not for finalized maps.

As a sidenote, your beat placement seems mildly random, as well the distance from note to note tends to leave no indication whatsoever as to when to tap again. What I mean is that closer notes don't seem to depict faster notes, and spaced out notes don't seem to depict a slower section. I don't think this is necessary by any means, but it tends to be a recurring theme in some of the best beatmaps. If not here, it's something to keep in mind later. Timing has definitely helped the map a lot, though.

I'm extremely glad you cut off the last two minutes of the song though. Shorter beatmaps are always nice.

Suppose i could take another go at it. Not that hard really. I´ll fix it over, repost it here see wacha think then post it over at complete section.

I think there's an option in the editor about distance snapping, alt clicking I believe.

Watching some replays of other beatmaps will probably make the idea more clear. Let's see...which one of these utilized distance snapping...

Daft Punk - Harder, Better, Fast, Stronger uses it a bit with some of the faster rhythms.

Meh, nothing changed when i pressed alt.
Ah well, here is a more "patterned" one.

I think the way alt + leftclick works is only on beat placement; ie, after placing an note, then scrolling to the next point in the song, you hold down alt, and it'll lock the radius for the next note placed.

You should probably wait for a more professional opinion before you make anymore changes, I probably sound like I don't know what the hell I'm talking about >.>
