It mostly had to do with some sort of bond I had with it, being it was my first forum. And the sad part is that it wasn't ALWAYS that bad. It only really tanked within the last year or so. I also stuck around because it was the one place I could see the only friends I have anymore, but thanks to Skype, Steam, and an IRC a friend made, I no longer had any reason to stay.DaddyCoolVipper wrote:
Kyle and S are cunts, and that seems like a really shitty website, Mega. Why'd you hang around for 3 years?

I think people who say that osu! is a bad community focus too much on the very vocal minority who is indeed the worst, which then leads to random newbie hate and an overall toxic environment. but people conveniently forget the vocal minority of nice and cool people, and the masses of people who are nice despite not even being active on the forums. I for myself have found more people I like to talk with in osu than in any other community, and I still think that osu! is a good community.

I mostly like them because they're the only gaming groups that I'm not currently banned from.

I disagree with the CoD part actually. People still try to piss you off for their own amusement (rage in to their mic, play loud annoying music through it, etc) and blame you / your friends for hacking, when you're not. It's not a fun community to be a part of, whether you're in a pre-made group or not.BRBP wrote:
People who say communities like RuneScape and CoD are terrible probably didn't think that there you're forced to be with other people all the time, here you can play by yourself and occasionally post to off-topic where you already know everyone, avoiding that 15-year-old weeaboo crowd in multiplayer, which is like, 90% of the people here? Runescape isn't that bad either once you get to the hidden forum sections, and CoDs are fun once you find a clan that forces you to prove your age to keep trolling teens out of it. [/My opinions]
Hon has been around since 2010 iirc, it hasn't changed one bit since they made it f2p. After playing for a total of around 5000~5050 matches ( i lost count at one point). The raging has started since that moment and the amount of smurfs that are being created at a constant rate is just absurd, I doubt anytime soon they'll be able to fix the problem with little kids raging, flaming towards you and people going full retarded against new playersYayMii wrote:
Worst: Easily HoN. I thought LoL's community was pretty bad, but I've never been called (and I quote) a "dumbshit that deserves verbal scolding" in LoL (not to mention that LoL doesn't have voice chat). The community as well as the game environment is not welcoming at all. At least S2 Games is realizing how bad the situation is, as they're actively working to minimize the amount of rage-inducing game mechanics in their next game.

the biggest problem with the osu! community is that it's collapsing under its size. The close-knit 2008-09 BSS system doesn't work well with what the site calls 3 million users. another problem is that the mods are too bent on keeping every last one of those three million people here. I hail from an off-branch of the MSPA forums with about 40-60 users where even targeting a minority or heckling a fellow user once can net your ass a suspension. The fact that there is leeway given for being a terrible person to other users in this community continues to surprise me to this day.
This is why I'll also list SomethingAwful as one of the best communities, even if I'm not a part of it. What they do right is considering being a user a privilege. Nobody has the right to be part of a community, and if you enter a community with your fists a-blazin' looking to start trouble with your fellow peepz then mods shouldn't even have to think twice about banning you.
I'm not recommending it.DaddyCoolVipper wrote:
^Perhaps you shouldn't reccomend it, I don't want people going there from Otaku Culture and making more naruto threads

Just to humor the thought, you'd pretty much fail. You personally don't own Elite Beat Agents, and thus can't file a law suit on osu! for it, and even if you somehow could, Peppy isn't making money off of it. Yes, there are those who donate to earn supporter tags and what not, but even then, it's just that. Donations. Plus, I'm sure if you read through the legal info linked at the bottom of the site, you'll find more reasons why lawsuits would fail.Macacito wrote:
