I looked around for this and couldn't find anything, so here goes:

One of the biggest flaws of multiplayer is having to wait for people to download maps. This, of course, is unavoidable, but wouldn't it be nice to be able to see what maps everyone in the room has?

Simply put, when you're the host of the room and you're selecting a song, you should be able to see what players in the room already have the song downloaded. If everyone in the room already has that song, it should be given a special icon.

I would also be nice to have a special filter to show you exactly what maps you share with other people of your choice. In other words, if one or more people have a really bad internet connection and can't easily download maps, or are waiting for their download limit to reset, you can view the maps that you share with those people exclusively. This can be achieved by removing/adding persons in the room to the filter by clicking on them from a list of names.

This would be a nice feature because a lot of the time, especially with friends that have similar tastes in music, I unknowingly share maps with other people and don't have any way to tell that I should pick them so that we don't have to wait. In rooms with people that have been playing for a long time, the list of shared maps might even be large enough so that nobody ever needs to download maps or wait during that session.

This has been suggested before.

I was once against this idea. Now I think this would be a nice thing to have as long as it doesn't need to load the list at all times. Storing huge arrays of beatmaps takes up lots of RAM.

Oh, okay, I must have missed it then.

Yeah, that's a good point. Maybe it could only work with the people who were in the room before you went to choose a song, so that there's no refreshing. It would be helpful enough like that.
