Playing with a playstyle I just picked up like a day ago. Don't give up too soon my friend.RIP wrote:

It was nice knowing you guys xD
This rule from owc should still apply if we're going to use mod-specific maps.Loctav wrote:
5-2. Selection out of mod-specific brackets is limited. Each captain can only select one map from each mod-restricted bracket during match. So each team can pick 1 HardRock, 1 Hidden and 1 DoubleTime map during match.
Difficulty will slowly increase over the maps, we've started of ''easier'' than the owc first rounds, seeing how there's a bigger group of players with variating difficulty. We'll slowly increase the level though, don't worry about that.YodaSnipe wrote:
Some of the no-mod maps are so geared towards HR and or DT players (especially considering the players in this tournament many of which have HR/DT'd these maps). I feel like the maps that have very few mod scores would be better overall choices (or maps with only HD scores perhaps).
Courage to tell a lie is sexier with HD imo, as it brings out the slider 1/1 pause slider patterns out better.YodaSnipe wrote:
HD:
- Almagest is a good choice, but may be too hard an HD map for first round. Good choice anyways. More like this in later rounds.
- Courage to tell a lie has HR/DT written all over it.
I don't see how a score list on a map says if the map is good for DT, HR or HD. Mercenary is one of those maps which can be used with all of these mods.YodaSnipe wrote:
HR:
- Mercenary is kinda odd, because the mod split on this one is pretty even between DT and HR, but tons of HD scores. I guess this is ok as an HR map.
- bloomin' feeling is a perfect HR map. Great choice. More like this for HR in my opinion.
As said and is logical, we'll slowly increase the difficulty of the maps. Don't worry~YodaSnipe wrote:
DT: Although I personally love both these maps (look at the top 10 for proof LOL), as first round DT maps, they are just fine. In the later rounds -closer to quarter finals, etc- I would suggest DT maps that are easy to mess up because of combos like 3-1-3-1-3-1-1, etc (kriers and gladi know what I mean for sure).
I believe in you Gladi <3GladiOol wrote:

Here's a list of how refereeing went in the previous tournament in order to keep things smooth:
- Switch to the default skin.
- Creates the room with an appropriate Match title.
- Save the link to the multiplayer history.
- Set the match to Team Vs mode.
- Remain host during all maps and use the multiplayer chat to take each player's requests.
- Do not skip the intro and do not participate in the match.
- Screenshot (Shift+F12) the results of each match.
- Create a post containing the match title, history and screenshots afterwards.

So now that the first round is done, I've made a Google doc with all the scores because I was bored~
W = win L = loss SS = 100% F = opponent failed (which would explain some really low winning scores)
Also, 3 maps only got played once, KOTOKO - Unite + reactioN, Lacuna Coil - Spellbound, and paraoka feat. yusuke - center piercing (sakuzyo bootleg).
NieN - Mellow D Fantasy (DT) got played the most with 9 plays.
GL in round 2~

Also im going to add more to that doc in a bit, just got home
My guess would be that the makers of this tournament decided that using flashlight would not be fair mod choice for such a tournament.pielak213- wrote:
why are there no flashlight maps available?
Well said.benguin wrote:
Please respect the tourney hosts' decision not to have flashlight. We all know there are some reasonable reasons/arguments as to it should not be included and in the end, the hosts decided against it. It's their tourney to host and they are bringing this tourney to you expecting nothing in return for their planning and hard work. If you don't like it, then you don't have to join

well, this was all slightly uncalled for. pielak simply questioned the absence of the mod, in no way did he show 'no respect'. besides, people who join in are more than allowed to question this matter and are also more than entitled to recieve an answer in return.benguin wrote:

Yeah, no one ever said there won't be FL maps. That is all up to the map selectors, since they have full control over that section of the tournament.GladiOol wrote:
