I've been wanting this for a long time. I think there should be a history on who changes the tags on forum threads. This should be in place not only to identify self-tagging by the thread owner, and the regular history for a thread in case we need to know who tagged a thread and for what reason when the tagger doesn't leave a message. Without it, we have to go fishing for information.
A side request: It would be nice to have a special logging toggle that would allow us to input a message as reason for tagging thread. That way if we ever had to mark a thread as invalid or resolved that is not obvious to others/admins we could then be encouraged to leave a message when tagging. Admins and other members of support will know why a thread was tagged without us having to edit the original post. I'm not sure how helpful this would be without a way to view a record of logs though.
I will suggest that too if it does not require an inventing of the wheel. If this system is to become useful for anyone there would need to be a way to categorize the data. Perhaps one could even sort logs by tags. There is a thread somewhere that requested filtering by tag. I'm not sure what happened to that request. It would probably be useful in the future to see which ideas get tagged as what. I can't say there it is a super huge deal that we do not have it, but there is benefit to keeping more organized logs that can record more useful data that can be tracked and analyzed. This is the business manager side of me talking. It is probably less important for a volunteer based organization such as osu! to view such statistics, but it would still be nice to have a method of analyzing trends, and also finding out what people are tagging/moving/editing and for what reasons.
