Uh... hard to explain, but i'll try.

Will be better to make mixed list of approved and ranked maps and also additional Ranked and Approved list.
http://puu.sh/1m1f .If you click on "Beatmaps" button without choice, you will automaticly enter to Ranked/Approved beatmaps list (now when you are clicking you're going to Ranked beatmaps listing)
This will make Approved maps more popular. Some old approved maps ( http://osu.ppy.sh/p/beatmaplist?l=1&r=6 ... m=0&page=4 ) still need some votes ...

Well, that's true, many approved maps are really good (I personally think they are often way better than most ranked ones) and they still don't get the plays they may deserve because people doesn't even know about them. I like the idea of making the default filter to be Ranked & Approved maps, so people do notice when new approved maps pop up (I rarely remember to check the approved maps list, and end up playing them weeks after they get approved). I doubt anyone will actually complain about this... and it'd be pretty cool to make approved maps more attractive to mappers, since many of them want to get their maps ranked and not approved because of this.

However you should understand approved maps have way less plays and votes since they almost always have only insane diffs, which makes them only playable to good players (in some cases only pro players), so many people can't actually play it (therefore vote for it).

P.S.: And something obvious yeah, I'm sure that when people searchs for a map, they do that on the Ranked maps list, and do not check the approved one.

Some approved maps are not crazy, you know. Seriously for example: http://osu.ppy.sh/s/19432 was ranked 18 days ago. Total plays 1689.

osu!direct has it already, that's why I use it instead of the website to download freshly ranked/approved maps.

Awesome idea. Surprised this hasn't been addressed already. Oh and one more thing. Sort by ranked date while including approved maps as well?

However, since approved Maps appears to the ranked Maps (https://osu.ppy.sh/s/93850 as example) this Thread can be marked as Added.
