I live next to the arena where the Canadiens de Montréal face their opponents in the NHL.
Every time there are hundreds of people walking in the street at 6 PM with a red and white sweater, I know there is a match today.
Thanks to them, I don't even have to watch TV to know who won: if they make a hell of a racket, Montréal won; if they have grumpy faces, they lost.
Their grumpy faces are sometimes so hilarious I often wish my city loses just to see them.

Used to go to a lot of red wings games when i lived in ann arbor and was like 7-8. I like watching it but don't really that much anymore.

I am a leafs fan, but don't get me wrong... I am not one of those fans who expects them to do well (I have been disappointed too many times). They have been my team since I can remember and shall remain so until they play so horrible that they get sold.
It's just unfortunate that they met Boston Bruins.

Russia certeainly has been staying strong... until today. It's just... wow, I don't believe what I'm actually reading. Also, USA - RUS excellent match made biggest impression on me thus far in this tournament, even though Americans kinda gave up the 3rd period - I was hoping for an overtime, maybe even shootout? Generally I'm rooting for Finland's championship victory!

And so Russia has lost another game and in really abominable style of Kovalchuk's 5+20 penalty. Pesonen was given game misconduct, too but it really didn't have to end that way. I'm under impression that both teams had their best moments only during 3rd period (especially 4on4 part) and until then no top-level play was shown.
As I'm writing this post, Canada destroys Belarus 4-0, let's see whether this one-sided game ends with that result or not.

Awww, too bad Finland didn't win their match, it was so close with such absolutely amazing 3rd period, it could easily be 4-3 or more. Some penalty shots were pretty lame, I would say. Nonetheless, hats off to the Three Crowns, it was beautiful game (PK goal? No prob) with well-deserved gold award. Good luck with defending championship next year! 
...if you're talking about NHL, I've been a fan of the Calgary Flames when I was growing up. But after 2004, it seemed like everything just went downhill. (I don't really follow hockey anymore though)Hika wrote:
