Modding subforum/append to existing forum

It has been bothering me for quite sometime that there is literally no place designed for discussing the modding process. Mapping Techniques is the closest it gets. I've thought about posting things in Gameplay and Rankings before. Is that the most proper area for such discussions? i'm not sure it's clear enough to me that it's the suggested place to go for that kind of discussion.

IMO the Mapping Technique board is outdated and rarely gets activity. Maybe we could repurpose it for mapping and modding, and get rid of the silly poll system that is only useful in that forum.

Anyway - What would you like to discuss about modding process? I can see only one topic there about for ex. "Quantity over Quality" or soemthing. I don't really find a reason for having a subforum specified JUST for modding (but we can somehow rearrange General Question which I linked, because It's supposed to be a mapping forum right? So why not mapping & modding?)

Oh yes. I know that is where people end up posting things related to modding. Really I don't even understand that subforum. I guess it fits, but it's not specific enough. Perhaps if they renamed it something else, then maybe it would get traffic. I think most of the forum just ignores it because it has a generic name. The only clue that it's related to mapping is that it's in the Work in progress forum category.

It's also not setup to be a discussion forum. It's set up to be a help and information dump for the entire game.

Yeah I know. I think it should be somehow rearranged - the mapping techniques should be moved (archived? They're rarely used if at all), and General Question.... I think it could be splitted up like this:
Beatmaps > Work In progress / Help > Mapping & Modding *This section could be used for general discussion about those things* > General Question *For help*
Or, remove "Help" thing from "Work In progress", and add whole new subforum under "Beatmaps" like
Beatmaps > Modding & Mapping Discussion *for discussing things* > General Question *for help*

A good reasoning for this is t/130225 this topic being under Gameplay & Rankings while it mostly is discussion about mapping.
