I don't know anything about this kind of thing, but how difficult would it be to add an osu! map search engine to Mycroft Project so maps could be searched using the firefox searchbar? It would just be a little thing but I would find it pretty convenient.

This is pretty cool. Maybe some kind of "osu! Toolbar" could be created where you can search for maps, look up stuff in the FAQ and jump straight to the site or something. Might be tricky to develop though.

Another thing you can do is

make a new bookmark in firefox with these settings:
name: Osu! Search
target: http://osu.ppy.sh/p/beatmaplist?s=7&o=1&p=beatmaplist&q=%s&r=0&g=0&la=0
keyword: osu

Then you simply type in the url bar
osu [search term]
and press enter, and it will go to osu and do the search.
Leave the target as it is if you want the default search, if not
green=sort
0:title, 1:artist, 2: creator, 3: difficulty, 4:ranked, 5:userratings, 6:plays

blue=order
0: ascending, 1:descending

orange=display
0: ranked, 1: ranked(unplayed), 2:approved, 3:pending, 4:all, 5:graveyard

purple=genre
0:any, 1:unspecified, 2:videogame, 3:anime, 4:rock, 5:pop, 6:another, 7:novelty, 9:hiphop, 10:techno

pink=language
0:any, 1:other, 2:english, 3:japanese, 4:chinese, 5:instrumental, 6:korean, 7:french, 8:german, 9:swedish
