Okay, I have a great idea. Make some new money besides Kudosu!, that is earned by playing a certain number of beatmaps.

And how would a new 'currency' help out in the slightest? What exactly would they provide to the average player? Please specify details if you can.

This is also called "play count", "ranked score" and "total score". And the scores give you level, which will later one give you some unlocks, I suppose. So no, we don't need anything else.

never lock people out of getting beatmaps (unless they are not registered)

I see where you are going, but it's not needed in a game like this. FFF only has a set amount of songs available, where as osu's songlist is never ending. Hence it will not fit.
