It's always kind of bugged me that every time I want to play I'll have to keep turning on hidden, or hard, or in the case of mania 4k. Seeing as the newest public release makes the game mode you selected persist through game closing, I don't see any reason why selected mods can't stay active now as well.
I'm sure this applies to other people who will refuse to play without certain mods on at all times as well.
So, I feel like at some point a feature could be implemented to make them sort of lock as active, until you change them.

Opinions? Objections? Support?

Edit: Adding the elaborated suggestion to the original post for convenience.

"I guess this could be done by bringing back the sliding the mods to change them (like how you previously had to access the nightcore mod), that was removed. You could slide the mod you want to lock and it'll rotate slightly counter clockwise instead of clockwise like they do now. Them being that angle would signify that they are locked, so you'd be able to choose which ones you want locked and it'd be easier to tell."

This is very understandable for the key mods in osu!mania. Any other mod shouldn't be kept throughout sessions.

i could agree to this

I agree, it could get bothersome having to re-click the mania mods every time you log on.

Even that would be helpful so I won't object to this. But why do you say the other mods shouldn't stay active? Just out of curiosity.

I may not be him, but I agree with the other mods not staying active. Imagine using Hard Rock, Double Time, and maybe a few other ones trying to get up the ranks on a map. You log off not disabling them because you didn't play anything else afterwards. Log on, now either you need to disable all of them, or if you forgot you had them on, end up playing a map not and freaking out noticing you left the mods on. But I guess that doesn't apply to everyone since some might often use mods, maybe the Mod remembrance thing can have a toggle button?

Okay, I see the concern here. That all said, I agree with the toggle system.

I guess this could be done by bringing back the sliding the mods to change them (like how you previously had to access the nightcore mod), that was removed. Input on this approach?

What do you mean exactly by locked? As in, they would be the ones that are in use until unlocked? If so I think that could be a good way of saving mods.

That is exactly what I mean.
