Hi everyone,

According to this, rrtyui is able to tape 20 Notes Per Second

(150 BPM . 1/4 = 10 NPS, .DoubleTime = 20 NPS).

How come ? I know i cant tape really fast (always doubletapping though), it starts to be hard at arround 12 NPS.
So I actually dont see how it is possible to tape 20 NPS.
Is he using any special devices (I know its much easier to fast tape with good touchepads) or softwares (triple / quadruple taping using HotKeySet, keyshark or any other softwares) , or just his fingers fast as f**k ?

Any advice to tape dat fast please ? :D

DT is a 50% speed increase, not 100%

so it would be 15 nps, by your logic

Doubletime has a 1.5 multiplier, not 2, so it's 15 NPS instead of 20. There are a select few maniacs who can do 20 NPS(accurately), but they're rare. rrtyui uses a normal mehanical keyboard, and he's in the vast majority. It's just fast fingers.

As for tips on how to stream faster(as it's called around here), practice hard and practice often. Building stream speed is about challenging your physical limits and also drinking coffee.

Oh, didnt know nor realized since i dont play much DT.

Then it makes sense, yet 15 NPS looks fast but not impossible :D.

still looking for advices though :)

EDIT : To GN, thanks :)

Always had this question:

270 BPM stream would be 270 x 4 = 1080 beats a minute which would mean 1080 / 60 = 18 beats per second. Does that mean that when someone is streaming at 270 BPM he is actually pressing 18 keys a second? Like I can do Mad Machine but I seriously doubt I can do 18 beats a second...

Yeah, rip Niko.
I wonder about rrt being the 2nd best though. We still have Pancake.

Streaming 300 bpm accurately has been done in many other rhythm games, even in DDR/ITG I think.

Yes with two fingers. Try looking up a "Vertex Gamma AA spread" video or something.
There are points when only one hand is used such as the left-down-left-down patterns.

I can stream 400 bpm if I can use 2 hands and don't have to follow circles too.

Considering the streams in mad machine last about 2 seconds, you can start like half second early, and end half second late, and suddenly you fc'd it but didn't get even close to 18 hits per second. Make a 100 note stream and try then.

Checked: short ones are 1 second, longer ones 1,5.
Even I have nomissed mad machine and I can't stream 270.

Just so you quit acting like you are amazing for using 2 hands <3

This is basically a long stream with 1/4 notes spread on both hands but yea they do have several one handed alternate patterns which forces you to alternate 300 bpm 1/4, and several places you have to singletao 300 bpm 1/2 which is 10 taps per second per finger. have to add StepMania timing is way less lenient than osu, atleast od9 and below i think, so it takes way less speed to avoid combobreakers on a normal OD stream than equivalent in StepMania.

I can do some short 300 bpm 1/4 streams with alternating on keyboard but there's no way I can see 300 bpm longstreams being done that way, but I have seen several people mash/2tap it and get away with it accuarcy wise, idk why that is. 270 however isnn't that bad it just takes some stamina to keep up on.

Getting Marvelous in Stepmania is close to OD10 (22.5ms Marvelous versus 20ms OD10), and he has a high Marvelous ratio.
A Good (combo breaker) is >90ms while OD10 is >100ms, so it's actually harder to keep up combos in Stepmania.

The guy in the video can definitely stream 300 BPM 1/4 with one hand without gimmicks like vibrating or mashing, but I guess you can't ascertain that from that specific video. You can check out his latest video if you're not convinced.

you are quoting the guy in the video , ct_warrior.
