As osumania mode become more and more mature and stable and mode-specific maps becoming rankable in the very near future, why don't we put o!m into monthly chart?
Maybe you are worrying about rank score calculation matter (same score limit on every diff). I've come to 2 solution of that:
(1) Forcing +HR on non-highest diff.
With extremely high 300g(MAX) standard, you may see a great score drop on lower difficulties, making compete relatively more balanced. What's more, with relatively low HP Drain rate (In lower diff- As I know, most non-insane diff don't use 7 or higher HP Drain), +HR doesn't make these difficulties extremely hard or unplayable. With this rule applied, chart rankers may choose to play easy diff with EXTREMELY HIGH accuracy (As my experience, with HR, 996,000 score is already an insanity) or to play insane difficulty with very few 200s - They may have same point result. I've heard of early charts put mod restrictions on songs, so this plan sounds OK.
(2) Lowering rank chart score given in non-highest diff.
Using this solution is to make charted score on o!m looks like in other modes. Formula may be simple or really complex, depending on relative star difficulty or item-in-the-map count or whatsoever, but if it works fine, balance would be easier to be achieved.
