Is there a way to Beatmap in 16:9 ?

I just noticed that there are no 16:9 maps.. I play since 4month+ on a 1920x1080 monitor and NEVER noticed that.
So is it possible? If not, why?

its not possible to my knowledge to map in widescreen. Why...I don't know been like that ever since

It is not possible because osu! was made for a 4:3 setup, and the original DS game was in a 4:3 format.
