This is yet another thing that bothers me. If I need to point out something that happens while in game such as the way stacks appear, I can't screenshot accurately, because there's no way of stopping the song while keeping the notes on the screen visible. In play mode, the orange cursor appeared which needed to be hit to continue, but that doesn't happen in test mode and that wont happen in any of the other modes either.
It might be useful in taiko maps if we can actually see what the pattern looks like in the mode, rather than interpreting hitsound patterns in Edit mode. Also in CTB mode, it's really annoying to test patterns, because of how unintuitive osu standard objects appear in CTB. These issues I think would benefit more than just pausing in test mode. I would like to be able to manually scroll through test mode if that isn't too hard to implement.
If there is a part which looks off, it would be nice to be able to skip back a few measures to play it again, or to observe it frame by frame. It is test mode, you know. We should be able to accurately test pieces of a beatmap as well as the whole thing and be able to go backwards and forwards through it without having to guess which part is which in a mode specific map.
If this is not a good idea, please give us the ability to have an unobstructed view of the notes. One cannot test properly while moving.
