if you want to be happy stop thinking like this, it'll make you not happy, and depressed, which is why you aren't happy. writing stuff like this is also ruining others moods, since they start reflecting on it, so gg.Hika wrote:

Fussing about happiness being a bunch of chemicals in the brain and objectifying it makes it something it's not. I am well aware of the science behind it- there's science behind everything we feel and do. But that doesn't mean we should detach ourselves from our emotions just because they're chemical reactions. We all need our feelings-- they go hand in hand with our instincts and guide our actions/ define who we are. While it may be hard to deal with the harder emotions, learning to confront sadness and depression is a great way to mature and build character. If you really want to be happy, stop and think about how you will be the happiest in the years to come and if your happiness is what matters the most to you. If you see nothing but suffering and still want to commit suicide, think again about how the people who may love you will feel after you've passed away. That suffering, to them, may be worse than death itself. Suicide is the ultimate selfish act someone can commit. You would be better off exercising new options for your future and trying to find some other meaning to your life. Where you may not find meaning in your life from happiness, your search for meaning may be all the meaning you need. I've personally found that there's a lot to my life apart from the ways I've been spending it for the past 21 years in my more recent endeavors.
Anyways, I don't mean to lecture anyone. Your life is your own and you are the one who decides what to do with it. While others may influence how you live they hold no true sway over your actions and words.

I honestly don't understand how committing suicide would be a selfish act. Then again, I've never felt sad when either my friends or family members have died.Kaoru wrote:

Not really, no. It's hard to achieve something that I've never experienced.Hika wrote:
But why would you want to try so hard to be forgotten & put yourself through even more pain? That just leads to another level of depression of some sort. Aren't you supposed to be achieving happiness?

Oh yeah, if committing suicide is a selfish act, then isn't preventing another person from committing suicide because it would cause me grief, also selfish?
Or because they suffer from some sort of chronic illness that causes them massive pain that cannot be relieved in any way.Kanye West wrote:

I can't really say much but I'm introverted also and learning to talk with people only comes with practice. And having hobbies helps too.silmarilen wrote:

So basically we're supposed to cut all of our social ties and become completely forgotten by EVERYONE, and only then we're allowed to kill ourselves? That takes a lot of time, man.

Wish my english was good enough to explain, but it's a real long story.Vext wrote:
There are so many things I could confess to or reveal about myself. But what reason would anyone have to reveal a weakness or tell the person they are deceiving that they are deceiving them?
Honesty builds trust- even if it requires coming clean. I am the sort of person who likes to be honest ALL the time, even if it hurts to lie. Because I know the more I lie or decieve someone the worse the deception may be. It's easiest to just be yourself around others. While revealing your weaknesses or deceptions may build trust, it's also a way to maybe come to terms with those weaknesses, regardless of what they may be.Vext wrote:

I've most likely got some form of aspergers - I'm really bad at communication as well. What I've learned about bullies is this - (1) you can't look vulnerable and (2) first impressions are everything. Bullies prey on those who look meek, are shy, and don't have much self confidence. If you sense a bully coming up (if you're anything like me, you'll immediately recognize that type of persona), you have to act totally calm and brash towards him/her - even if you have to fake it. I've found that if you discourage them the first time, they'll fuck off.silmarilen wrote:
