My local McD's wi-fi is horrislow, but I know of other McD's that have faster net. Oh well. Anyway, welcome back, CNM :D And poot you, Soap >_>

UPDATE: There's a chance I won't be able to make tomorrow's kartparty due to my sister visiting and us visiting my hospitalized mom. Even if could still somehow play, I probably wouldn't be in the mood for it since my sister's bound to chew me out (family reasons).

Pretty much. One of them actually switched to Toad later on and suddenly started doing noticeably better.

Oh please, it's called "taking a break". :P I did that last Monday when I played MK7 locally with some buds. I kicked ass but that's besides the point.

Also, second session starts at 6:15 now, but please be there at 6 so we actually get started at 6:15.

I would've been "done" (entered the Hall of Fame) sooner if my sister wasn't here... I'm also catching every single (currently obtainable) Pokémon along the way (for Critical Captures) as well as getting every single item I can so I won't have to worry about it later. I've just recently gotten my 6th badge, so unless I pull an all-nighter (not happening), I won't be "done" by tomorrow's kartparty. (I also would prefer if I entered the Hall of Fame sometime either tomorrow or Sunday. *personal preference*)

Are you prepping for a big tournament or something? I can think of no other reason to be in a hurry to complete a single-player game.

Also, you say "worry about it later" like it's a chore that you're trying to put behind you. It's not. It's a video game that you play for fun. Relax, maybe try chewing and savoring your food before you swallow it.

Awww... As much as I would love to join in on the next Kartparty, making fun of Blaze :P, I unfortunately will once again, have to pass this session and possibly the next session. Important assignments due and an examination week I gotta worry about. Sorry guys D: I will definitely keep Kartpartying as soon as I can.

I should be able to make it now. I'm just doing post-story stuff on Pokémon White 2 now, but obviously that can wait.

In other news: Mario Kart 7 is available for download in the e-Shop. GO GET IT IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY! (Not sure if this is a global thing, though.)

I played mushroom cup 50cc and it was too slow :? so I went straight to 150cc and never looked back. I don't see how people can play on 50cc :cry:

I actually enjoyed 50cc since the races actually felt longer, speed aside. (Don't ask me to explain that; it's just an unexplainable feeling of mine.)

I liked 50CC because I was almost guaranteed a three star rank

But at least 150cc + mirror is a challenge. Still have to 3*** most mirror courses, but I only have one 150cc course to 3**

3*'ing only becomes an issue if you're constantly being raped by items and/or falling off the track. Other than that, just keep drifting, pulling off mini-turbos, and shortcut if you can (don't risk it if you think you won't make it) and you should be fine.

I can get raped by items and still have no real issue 3-starring. >_> The trick is to simply be able to take good lines. Oh, and use a max accel combo.

Yes, party tonight.

And it's true! MK7's 3 star requirements are basically, "Get 1st every race and don't totally suck while doing it."

EDIT: Such a feat would be much harder to pull off on MKWii and MKDS, though, since those games have actual standards. >_>

Nope. Not on MKDS anyway. It's super easy to get 3 stars on MKDS since you can dodge blue shells easily and reliably on 150cc, and there are no gliders.

I made the sc once by fluke. I was using the custom in the video--clown car, slick, super. I don't know if there's something special about its hitbox that allows it to work.
But at least I've gone through the paces of learning the RIW shortcut and cut about 10 seconds off my old time. (now 2:05:564)

Damn it, guess that means I'm gonna have to go properly learn the RIW SC now. >.>

But yeah, you need an extremely small kart for it to work. Anything bigger won't be able to fit. Not that many players with the skill level required to pull it off consistently use karts that small nowadays, and they aren't going to switch just for one course, so you won't see it very often. It should still be patched, but it's not going to ruin online or anything.

I can make the Daisy Cruiser shortcut reliably!
(with Clown Car. No such luck with Train or Egg1.)
Now I decide whether I should change my main just to troll on one track. :D

If done right, your kart will be 3/4 of the way inside the brick and you will fall down. At 0:03 you can see shyguy embedded in the white brick. This is what you're aiming for. Don't fall at full speed.

It doesn't seem to work on wi-fi. Need to investigate further.
Clown+roller also feels a lot more feeble than my regular, so I won't main it.

After messing around with a voice changing program as well as Skype settings, I'm pretty sure I can make myself sound different now. Granted, it's not an "official" voice that I'll be sticking with, but expect the next Skype call to be awkward :P

The program has issues with loud noises, so if I laugh or yell/rage... well... At any rate, I'll probably have it set up to where I have to press a button to talk just in case.

'Cuz the downstairs comp actually gets a good signal that allows me to have headphones on, but this comp isn't close enough. The mic has a long chord, though, so it can reach me.

However, wireless headsets do indeed exist. Donations please. :P

Late but...

Cancelled today because mm won't be there, Blaze is skipping, and I showed up half an hour late because I was so occupied with getting my CRT's newly-discovered 480p-ness set up for my Wii that I didn't notice the time. (Sorry, Germans! Well, if you even showed up. >_>)

So like, Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed has this Swarm item. What it does is put a giant swam of wasps in front of 1st place. If 1st place is skilled then they can maneuver through the wasps but it's not easy. Furthermore, the wasps last for a certain amount of time so the racers close to 1st will also have to deal with the wasps.

...I wish this game had a similar item; it's actually a fucking brilliant item because it's fair, promotes skillful driving, and can still screw over 1st by timing the usage of it to be when it's hard to avoid.

Oh, and I want that game now. I'll probably be getting it for the PS3 whenever I get the $$. Supposedly it's the best Mario Kart alternative in over a decade.
